  1. I'm not sure why this one hasn't caught on. Turn based strategy, X-com elements, and Ghostbusters sounds like a good mix. This project is already funded, but with 10 days left, this game has some decent stretch goals that would really flesh out the core game (7K pounds more gets a second city to play in).
  2. 10 days to go and the projected numbers aren't looking good. Come on folks, Cold War Era, Turn-based, what more do you need to see? http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/2079547763/jagged-alliance-flashback/minichart.png
  3. The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is only $5.99 on GOG.com today. This edition is DRM free and includes a "graphically enhanced" Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.
  4. Heh heh, I was drumming up interest on another site, and called it "Fort Zombie done right". $270K at present, so more character customization, more zombies, and more game options. Just $30K from a whole new city environment. I'm excited to see this one gather some momemtum.
  5. I hate to double post, but this Dead State: The Zombie Survival RPG is getting down to the final 48 hours for backing, and they're $18K from the next goal which includes more character customization. So the run down: turn based tactical combat; base building; dealing with NPCs and Allies; RPG character development with skills and perks; slow moving zombies; all for $15. So check it out on Kickstarter. There's a nice vid that shows what they're aiming for. And now back to your regularly schedule program.
  6. I have to agree, the infection is hard to fight. Great mod for a cool game (I always loved the original Operation Flashpoint). Brings out the irrational fear in everyone. In other news, Kickstarter has an awesome looking zombie game, that's about survival, not just killing zombies. It's a turn-based tactical game with major RPG elements called Dead State. Check out http://www.kickstart...ie-survival-rpg and promptly empty your wallets like I did.
  7. I think the cause of that "accidental discharge" is the thousand or so volts that seem to be striking our debonair hero in the, uh, hindquarters.
  8. Just bumping this thread as recently there have been several multiplayer beta tests done. There's an actual Homepage now with screens and movies. The game appears to be shaping up nicely and is looking to recreate the board game experience (w/o the expense and hassle of buying all of those miniatures). I'm looking forward to this one, as I ran out and bought the original board game 20+ years ago.
  9. Glad to see you revisit the GI Joe mod. I tried messing with the mod capabilities way back when, and it was just too hard to figure out. With that being said, I'm probably not a whole lot of help to your project. I seem to remember hitting a brick wall with trying to implement new TGAs for faces, clothes, etc. I eventually gave up and on hindsight realize, I don't have the time or patience essential to modding. I just want to wish you luck on the project and offer my support (which is really just cheering from the sidelines). Sounds like you're making some good progress so far. I'm looking forward to seeing the Joes in action.
  10. They could at least add that safety swing arm on the front...oh, in the Post-Apocalyptic Future, kids are smart enough not to walk in front of the bus driver's blind spot? Safety first people! Edit: Oh great find on that Miner 2049er...I did see the box art and still bought it for my TI-99 4/A
  11. The End (The Doors) - Navy Seals (A golden oldie) Back in Black (AC/DC) - Black Highway Star (Deep Purple) - Gran Turismo (et al) It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine) (REM) - Missile Command Anvil of Crom (Conan Soudtrack) - Barbarian II Kung Fu Fighting (Carl Douglas) - Bruce Lee London Calling (The Clash) - Hellgate:London Higher Ground (Red Hot Chili Peppers version) - Contra (Stage 3:Waterfall)
  12. Oh the irony of not knowing how to spell "misspelled" in a post about misspelling.... Anyways, enjoy this gem. http://www.defunctgames.com/pic/coverfinalzone2duo.jpg Sorry for the wall of text, but I couldn't decide what to focus on. Do I go with the mullet on the right? Or the distinct lack of firepower apparent with the guy in the blue suit - at least he has his helmet on. Then there's the two in the middle, that out of their fashion sense, have decided to enter battle with their helmets sticking up in the air. Take note of "Tribute to Luke Skywalker in Purple's" dual barreled wrist cannon--perfectly aligned to hit nothing that he can aim at. Does the female even have a weapon? Finally, we have "Chrome Dome" at the left who appears to be rather enjoying himself. I'm not sure I want to delve into the skills of the 4 year old who drew this, as its artistic values are obvious. Unfortunately for our mismatched group of heroes, it appears from the explosion at the bottom right, and the ominous purple gas emanating from under "Purple Luke" (although that could be a hygiene issue), our gang has just suffered a direct hit. Could be why this is titled FinalZone.
  13. In the Ghetto (Elvis Presley) - River City Ransom First one that popped into my mind.
  14. Or look for one of the remakes out there. Barbarian remake I have fond memories of loading it on the C64, however the game file was mis-spelled as BARBARNIN.
  15. Uh, Hello? It's obviously a Tron light cycle exploding. You'd think you never played Donkey Kong.
