  1. Hmm...... playing an unmodded game, what must that be like. I mod every game I play, makes em more fun.
  2. Yeah, try saying that after playing with the alienassault mod on hard! "7 of us and 50 of them....... Do you think we should give them a chance to surrender?"
  3. Level 3 Medic Heal Permanent Damage - Removed from final game Revive Dead Soldiers - Tested, Works fine Heal permanent damage was completed for the game, but was removed before final deployment. I beleive they removed it cause it can break the game. If you could heal perm damage with medikits, you could merely not exit the mission and first use your level 3 medic to heal everyone back to full health, therefore negating the part of the game that required your units to rest and regenerate at the base when badly injured. The code it still there it just needs to be tweaked to work, someone has already created a mod to do this, and it's very easy to do yourself if you so wish. If you do decide to go this route, please don't abuse it, it'll ruin some of the fun of the game. Now to Reviving. You soldier has been shot to hell and rolled over dead, his life bar has gone fully black and his portriat has disappeared from your console. This is what the game means by dead. Once this has happened, move your level 3 medic within range and simple click on the corpse as you a live unit to use the medikit, Viola!! You trooper is not alive, not really in tip toe condition, but alive. PS: Just remember to watch out for what ever killed him in the first place. I suggest running the revived guy back to a safe spot as he's gonna wake up with very little life left in him. PS: I think this only works with an Advanced Medikit, but why your level 3 medic would be using a normal medikit I have no idea.
  4. Okay, in the game there is a difference between men and woman. They may not be equal but each have strengths and weaknesses. I was sifting through the game files a few days ago, can't remember which one though, but one of the files had the stat & ability adjustments for the different races and sexes. I remember because I noticed that the differences between humans and cyborgs was alot smaller than I would have beleived. Anyway I did notice that woman had less hitpoints and strength than men, but they had their own bonuses, I beleive it was psionics and either agility or dexterity can't be sure though. But, the point of the matter is that they are different, and each have bonuses over the other. I'm gonna open up the gamedata again once I have added the new patch, and I'll try to remember to check and give you the exact stats.
  5. 7 man squad, in full heavy armour, after whiping out over 50 wargots without breaking a sweat, one of them spotted a lone .............................. "AHHH!! A FLATSTER, RUNNNN!!!"
  6. I have 30, maybe 40. It goes something like this. 20 humans 10 Psy 10 Cyborg Ship just arrived a (game) day or two ago. Lowest is level 10, highest level 18. All have some type of training, all cyborgs and psys have level 3 of their primary set and most humans have 2 different sets. I don't have anyone with 3 full level 3 sets, but close, best is 3/3/2. I am playing on veteran and using the assault & xpmod, so I need this many. Of the 40 at least half of them are in training or 'rehab' at any one time.
  7. X-COM LIVES!! . . . . Okay maybe not a classic history making game like X-Com, but still a damn good try. I'm loving this game, I got it a week after I got CIV 4, and have not picked up CIV 4 since. For this game to stop me from playing a Civ game, that's alot, only a handfull of games have ever done that for me. And I have the rings under my eyes to prove it. 2 weeks, 14 days, 480 hours of playing this game, and I still want MORE!! 8.4/10 is my ranking and a faithfull, if evolved, successor to X-Com. Keep em comming guys!

    IR fix

Hi Preda, I'm also running on a 9600 and mine is working fine. I can only assume that the problem lies in your driver configurations or the game setting. First off, I know everyone says it, check that you have the latest driver and DX9c installed. My 9600 is running fine on Novembers Catalyst drivers. The second thing to do, since the special veiws are tightly integrated with the Shaders, would be to fiddle around with your shader setting both ingame and directly with DirectX. I would suggest setting the shaders to max in both and see if you still get the problem. Beyond that there is nothing I can think of that could resolve the problem, beyond a full system driver clean that is.
