  1. While I agree with the xcom was better, for the way soliders went in and caskets came out quite fast, but towards the end I did have my elite squad. when someone died it hurt, a lot. With AL I dont think it means one death restart, and perhaps death is a bit more far fetched than in xcom. Even then due to training you can refill spots "lost" in combat. I dont know how many men you can take into a mission (7?) but with 30 to fill in spots... I think we should have plenty. F3

  3. Very nice indeed.... guess the longlivity of it will keep us playing for ages to come. Oh and I KNOW there will be many people who play just to see how much of the map they can destroy while in the progress of killing the aliens. As for his comment on the annoying things the squaddies say every time they are selected... I'm sure there is a way to turn it off in the final version... F3
  4. Look at the moving on the new levles as the original games final missions, you need to raid the surface first then take out the cowards sitting inside. Also what i think they might have ment is that if you get two almost back to back missions you might end up with a half dead squad after the first one (and forgotten to get the recruits in training) and then the second mission is fairly well ummm yea you get the idea. Could be that the tester didn't like just having 7 men per mission, something i dont understand (still playing 6 man games with 3 man death squads). Just some more ideas... F3
  5. Ok, so F3 is back from the dead..... (oops wrong place) No, you cant blow buildings up... and yes we will all miss it alot. and no its not going to kill the game. I imagine they found createfull ways around having fixed structures, basically assume they are black holes of the map, nothing goes out of them and nothing goes... in (ok yea not very black holeish). I think they decided not to include enterable buildings was so that the maps didnt have to be made HUGE to fit the proportions. Also if you cant go in, well its going to be frustrating to have a huge gap yet no way to walk into it, so they fixed it so you couldnt tear buildings down. Everything else gets vaporised just fine if you want. F3

  8. /agree with trance Ok now cleraing up on Xcom buisness 1- it is NOT officially an Xcom remake 2- they (jiri) have stated its not an xcom sequel 3- they (jiri) have stated that it mearly looks like xcom becuase they were fans of the game 4- we (me, Fqubed) have baptised as Xcom remade because it well looks like xcom remade (excellent logic you must admit) F3
  9. Well thats a bit of an ejem stupid question isnt it Slaughter, If i were you try giong with Kazaa (simple to use and common enuf so you dont have to spend hours looking, and run it thru there) Oh and were is the line for DLs? F3
  10. I imagine it would be eazy to implement, but this is really just one of those "candy" things they add in at the end. the real meal is the campaign like all other X-COM games..... oh wait this is not an X-COM game my bad But i dont think it will be to hard to have... F3

I think it was mentioned in the offical boards someware (or created in my mind) but you dont have a fully free floating camera, it has a set of "axes" it can move on, been really buisy on the home front so i dunno if they said anything recently srry. But you can zoom in and out and rotate to some degree around objects to get a better view. F3
  13. IT IS!!!!!!! Well sort of, not officialy and only in the way that the devs have all played and loved (or so they proffess) all the other Xcom games... F3
