  3. CHRISTMAS EVE 1.50pm BBC1 Small Soldiers, ok it's a kids' flim but honestly - take a look, what a corker! the Gorgonites battle their sworn enemy the commando elite: highly recommended 8.10pm TOTP2 BBC2 Slade, Boney M, Abba, Rolf Harris, Norman Wisdom, Take That, Peter and Lee and all your favourites from Christmasses gone by - don't miss it 10pm ITV PARKINSON includes a sensational performance from Mariah Carey 10.55pm BBC2 STEPTOE AND SON, it's the episode where Harold and Albert have a fall out and decide to put a dividing wall down the middle of the lounge INCLUDING right through the TV, trouble sparks on Christmas Day when Harold can't see the other half of the TV during an exciting football match - Wimbledon FC are 2 - 0 up when the unthinkable happens, in a rage Albert pulls the plug ... just at the deciding moment CABLE TV programme of the day SKY CINEMA 1 8pm ALIEN this is still one hell of a scifi movie even 25 years on, the 2 engineers always tickle me with their 'union type' maintenance practices and the ship's cat gives one of the best performances, catch this and remember it was based on a true story - makes it even more amazing! CHRISTMAS DAY 6pm Steptoe and Son BBC2 Harold has to take the horse and cart on the road Boxing Day morning as the petty cash has run low and Albert is refusing to open the savings tin. Things come to a head when Harold gets some particularly interesting antique radiators during the round, they're a bit rusty but Harold is determined to integrate them into the domestic heating arrangements back home. 3.10pm, SHREK BBC1 the original donkey vs ogre tall story, not to be missed! 4.35pm BBC1 Toy Story 2 this I haven't yet seen so here's hoping it's a good un, I saw the first one and that was blinding 9.35 BBC1 Two Ronnies Catch these 2 comedy past masters at work, guaranteed a laugh 12 midnight ITV The Untouchables Sean Connery, Kevin Costner, action packed bloody mob film, this is true life history - highly recommended CABLE TV programme of the day UK GOLD 1245am Royle Family - it's the one where Antony's girlfriend's family come over for dinner and boast boast boast giving Jim total indigestion but he puts a brave face on and shares anecdotes galore giving Antony the usual ration of caustic platitudes, worth a look even on Christmas night BOXING DAY 9am BBC1 Morecambe and Wise Show, a bit early but any time is good for these 2 top comedians! 3.05 pm CH 4 The Poseiden Adventure Tidal wave vs holiday cruise nightmare movie, a real cracker this and includes an enormous Christmas Tree and sensational ending to boot, well worth a Boxing Day afternoon this CABLE TV programme of the day: UK GOLD 3.30pm THE GREAT ESCAPE Steve McQUEEN does some excellent motorcycle riding alongside a very solid looking fence

  6. Zombie I never knew about that stuff as I assumed it wouldn't work just shows you worst of all was the logic in tallying up which "survivors" would make it back e.g. 3 soldiers STUNNED down on the battlefield, 2 soldiers in other soldiers back packs being returned to the avenger, suddenly the mission is won (all aliens killed) but do the 3 stunned soldiers make it back? do the soldiers in back packs make it back?

EMI CD 552 911 2 = 20 tracks = when you're in love with a beautiful woman TOP TEN from the CD: (I just LOVE this CD at the mo) Congregration Softly whispering I love you Commodores Easy Peter Noone Oh you pretty thing Elton John Rocket Man Don Mclean American Pie Rod Stewart You wear it well Stealers Wheel Stuck in the middle with you Hot Chocolate Emma Peter Skellern You're a lady Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel Come up and see me 'Softly whispering I love you' was successfully covered by Paul Young but nothing beats the original version by Congregation and this is the top number on this sensational 70s CD!! 'You wear it well' is one of Rod Stewart's best stock songs - the only one that beats it is 'Maggie May' 'Stuck in the middle with you,' I remember this so well on the radio clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right 'Emma' - a right slow and penetrating number this - what a voice our Errol has - too much!! 'Easy' - oh boy, have you seen these guys in their outfits? singing on stage? I asked the missus to get me a jacket like those guys wear but she's still saving up blinding performance and song, really love this 'Oh you pretty thing' a real classic and I love the part where "I look out my window and what do I see? A crack in the sky and a hand reaching down to me = all the nightmares came today" whooboy, love the lyrics on this - totally terrific BEST OF THE REST FROM THE CD Joe South Games People Play The Hollies The air that I breathe Hurricane Smith Don't let it die  a great CD, so many tracks that I just love from the 70s! ok - what's YOUR best compilation CD??
