  1. You're not the only one; it's a known problem with Apocalypse under XP. Check out this thread. Basically, you can circumvent the problem with a little program called mouse2kv. There is a link to it in the second post on that page.
  2. Yes. If you're using Boxer, set 'Output type' to OpenGLNB, and drag the 'Hardware scaling' slider to 2.00. The corresponding entries in a .conf file would be: [sdl] output=openglnb hwscale=2.00 You can use the regular OpenGL output and/or non-integer scaling if you want, but it won't necessarily be pretty; most likely it'll give you a headache. You might also try running DOSBox full-screen, in which case Hardware scaling should be set to 1.00. Either way (windowed or full-screen), I haven't found any settings that look good with aspect correction enabled, so I always get a slightly flattened image in games that use 320x200 (e.g. UFO). Not really a problem, though.
  3. I haven't used any of those editors you mention, but I remember XED crashing on fast computers (e.g. P4@2.4GHz). As I recall, I was able to run XED under DOSBox; you could try that.
  4. To change current drive (as opposed to changing current directory on a drive), just type the drive letter followed by a colon, in your case "e:". When you write "cd e:" the current directory on e: is printed. The whole procedure should be something like the following: e: install c:\ufo c: cd \ufo cdsetup e: Then, to run the game: ufocd e:
  5. If you have the version that's supposed to run off the CD, change directory to the root of the CD (in a command prompt), and run "install c:\ufo" (or whatever directory you want to install to). After that, change to the directory you installed the game to, and run "cdsetup d:" (replace d: with the designation of your CD-drive). Start the game with "ufocd d:". The procedure for the 'run-off-HD' version should be similar, but the exact details will vary. As for sound, you should try VDMSound. If all else fails, try DOSBox. My P4@2.4GHz can run UFO under DOSBox quite comfortably. In fact, running UFO natively on such a fast computer makes it a little too fast in my opinion. I hope any of this helps...
