Well, Yes or No. You don't NEED to upgrade it with pacth just to play it, as the patch wasn't made to modify the problems. But as the patch makes some good adjustment so that the game would be more enjoyable, I think you'd BETTER upgrade it!

Somehow, the guys at this forum don't seem too keen on JA series, though I think Silent Storm series are more like JA series than X-COM or UFO series. Maybe it's because there's already Bear's Forum for JA anyway.

You can activate the mods to your saved games by using the "S3 addmod" here.

Well, I guess it's partly because it's hard to show on screens how interesting the dialogue and RPG elements are.

Well, according to this thread of RPG codex, it seems JA3D will be turn-based anyway. I'm really glad. :lol: Yes, it may be worse than the game having been developed as turn-based from the beginning. But I guess it's far better than Real-Time with Pause, because It's JA afterall !!

@Pete: Strictly speaking, E5 Brigade is not turn-based, but real time with Smart-Pause System, which may be the reason you haven't heard about it. But anyway, the rumor says it's gonna be a good game, (at least expected to be better than JA3D, which will happen to be changed to Smart-Pause System by some idiots at Mist Land ). @Slaughter: Yeah, it's gonna be a good year from the game point of view, but a tough year from the MONEY point of view...

He says the release date is 3rd quarter this year. It's like every highly anticipated Turn-Based tactical games (such as Hammer & Sickle, Night Watch, E5 Brigade) are coming later this year! I guess most of us will be spending lots of money on game this year.
