  1. Warring Factions A browser based space empire thingy. Not much to look at, but loads of depth.
  2. Erm... Kret... This is the problem. Pushing the mouse forwards makes the controls say 'pull up'. As a practicing Elite player, the pull-back-to-pull-up control setting is (probably more than) second nature. Btw... Thankyou. Come again. @Slaughter There doesn't appear to be anything in (any of) the .ini file(s) even mentioning a mouse. Any clues at all? Anyone?
  3. After a little break from the hallowed X-COM titles, i thought i might dust of Interceptor 1.2. So, i jump straight in. Everything's fine till i get to my first mission, and i remember why i put it away in the first place. The mouse. Its backwards... Up isn't supposed to be up. Its supposed to be down. Bah! i can't work under these conditions! Its.... Its.... Its..... Bleedin impossible is what it is! Is there any such thing as a patch, or a little bit of something to stick in an .ini file to flip the mouse x-axis over, or am i just wanting too much?
  4. C-Media seems to have installed a state-of-the-art game repeller in its newer chipsets. Shame, as i've always found them to be quite reliable apart from a few quirks. (Of which this seems to be one, along with Battle Isle.) Fun isn't it?
  5. Well.... BB has prodded us in the right direction at least. It *IS* a sound issue, as i had no problem at all playing in total morbid silence. I tried a few other sound configs - or at least attempted to... As if i select anything other than autodetect the system locks. Weird. Just completeness sake: Autoexec @echo off C:\PROGRA~1\GRISOFT\AVGFRE~1\BOOTUP.EXE PATH C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\MPS\XCOMEDIT\;%PATH% mode con codepage prepare=((850) C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ega.cpi) mode con codepage select=850 keyb uk,,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\keyboard.sys Config device=c:\windows\himem.sys files=40 device=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\display.sys con=(ega,,1) Country=044,850,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\country.sys Nothing much going on in there to muck up..... And... I wouldn't touch XP even with someone else's stick... hehe
  6. Yep. Same result. S'pose i could go raiding some USO's.... *clutches gas cannon & shuffles about in quiet desperation*
  7. DOSBox also fails on the same tactical loading..... My OS is Win98 first edition (Would be SE, but i can't for the life of me find my CD....) Machine: Pentium3 500 192Mb RAM 64Mb KYRO II C-Media C3880 (Full SB16 emu.) What really bugs me tho, is that UFO & TFTD are no problem at all. Just for the record, my last machine (which sadly proceeded to silicon heaven after a breif surge) ran Apoc fine. Dead Machine: Celeron 300 128 Mb RAM 32 Mb Voodoo2 C-Media C3880 Win98 (both 1st then 2nd ed.)
  8. Okay.... This had been mentioned before, but no-one seemed to have any idea on what to do about it. Sequence of events: Install = Fine Setup = No Problem Run Game = Great Buy/Equip vehicles etc. = No worries Reseach = Easy City Combat = Piece-o-cake Tactical Combat = Nope! I can load up my transport, & send it off & wait for it to dock at wherever. But as soon as i select investigate/raid the trouble starts... I get as far as that nice poster that kindly reminds you Don't Get Hurt!, which fades into the squad equip screen. Then the system hangs mid-fade every single time no matter the mission, save/new game, etc..... And, whats more frustrating is that i *know* full well it should work as i have had it running fine before on my Win98 machine. Any help (or even kind words ) would be most appreciated.... Nice forum btw
