  1. The new posts here have just about stopped. The S2HQ has posted nothing new for Silent Storm in quite a while now. No new mods and no site updates. The editor being so hard to understand has really discouraged a lot of people. Seabee
  2. Great, a new mod to look foreward to. What changes does your mod make to the game? Seabee
  3. All the Silent Storm boards have been rather quiet lately with barely any new mods being posted for download. I wonder if it's because the editor is difficult to understand. Maybe your efforts to translate the editor manual into a more easily understandable format will help. S2HQ hasn't been updated and the traffic on the boards has been rather sparse, I wonder if everyone is busy making new mods or have they moved on to some other game. I would just like to say thank you for sharing your knowledge of Silent Storm, you have been a big help to me and I am sure many others looking for information or help with a problem. Seabee
  4. I came across a little program called Skill Hack on the Nival Forums http://forum.nival.com/showthread.php?threadid=25368 Check it out if you are tired of typing setlevel commands, it works great/ Seabee
  5. I have found wounds like Loss Of Hearing, Loss Of Eyesight, ect. listed in one of the six little box's next to the small picture of your injured character in the lower left of your game play screen. My medic failed to heal these conditions using a first aid kit even though the bleeding wound was fixed. But succeeded in removing the impairment when using an Abby Forceps for a while. So you do have to try different medical tools until you find the combination that works. Seabee USA
  6. Prototype_8 X-COM weapon is 467 and the ammo is 468
  7. The only safe way to play this game as a beginner is to save your game at the start of each mission. At the beginning of each turn before doing anything. And during your turn especially before throwing a grenade or doing anything risky. At least you will not have to replay the whole mission from scratch because the game that was going quite well suddenly turns and has something incredibly stupid occur to ruin your strategy. Later on as you gain more action points you will start to enjoy the game. As a beginner playing on the easy setting it is really no fun as you are lucky to have enough action points during your turn to reload your weapon much less fight back. Just remember to Save and Save often.
  8. This past weekend while hanging out with 9 of my friends I let them try my new Silent Storm game using the easy setting, no mods or additions just the game as it was delivered USA version 1.2. Everyone agreed that a patch is badly needed to remove at least 80 percent of the friendly artificial stupidity & replace it with what is presently missing, "friendly artificial intelligence". This would allow the player to actually enjoy the game instead of turning it off in disgust after one or more of the friendly squad members ruins what is otherwise a very enjoyable game. Having an incredibly stupid act occur every time your strategies are just beginning to payoff gives the feeling that the computer has taken over and is playing both sides. This happens in every mission we tried on the easy setting. All agreed that Silent Storm has great graphics and a lot of potential but they would not enjoy playing it unless the friendly AI stupidity is taken out.
  9. I have also run into this red silhouette and ear icon situation. It has also occurred in the open front quarter middle of the map with no trees or buildings. But even if the computer ai is hidden on the ground or in the trees it adds up to sandbagging the player. In a first person perspective game you could hide an opponent in a tree or on the ground, but this game has an almost top down perspective that limits your ability to see a hidden opponent much less know that he has climbed a tree. The red silhouette and ear icon as far as I can tell looks like it is on the ground like all the others. All the player knows is that he can see the enemy while being shot to pieces. Then on the players turn the enemy that was in plain sight turns into the red silhouette and ear icon and has effectively denied the player his turn. Unless you have a grenade to try your luck with.
