  1. Okok... Everythime I try to build I instantly get an error message (abnormal program termination), so I'm pretty sure it didn't work... Everything works fine, except for the build button.
  2. My editor works fine, except for the "build" thing. I can't build any maps. I'm really upset about this, because I have invested many hours of building levels. So if anybody could build my mod for me (does anybody know, which files are needed here?) I would be very thankful. Or at least tell me which files I have to transfer so I could try to build it on an other PC.

    Being a die-hard JA and JA2 fan, I agree with you in all points. Let's hope somebody does a nice strategic mod for S2, then it would be a lot more addictive. Something like conquering sector like it is in JA.
  4. I too have the German version 1.11 and I'm now proud owner of a katana. I found the encounter in England, not Scotland. If that helps you: I found the encounter in the bottom left corner of the map. Besides: with all on level 14 or 15, those guys are easy to beat.
  5. Why do you replace the 33-40? Don't you like that weapon?
  6. To the waypoints I found something: In the Autoplay directory you will find 3 maps. There I found in the Map 4414 (I think it was this one, but I'm here at work, so I can't check, but it's a map with 2 houses and a road in between) in the middle of the map, I found a flag, which was named as waypoint. Of course you could copy paste this item into your map.
  7. Now that I finally have all the requiered dlls copied into the tools directory it works... externally, and that doesn't mean nothing. Because in the editor I still get error messages. Always "abnormal program termination". I really don't know what else to do, as I am still not able to build any maps. Maybe reinstall the editor?
  8. I have a SQL Server on CD1 that I installed, on CD2 I haven't seen any additional SQL stuff. (I have the German version of the game, maybe it's different to the US release) You where right about the dlls. Now there's another one missing. That's the hell about windows... all those darn dlls. (where is the Linux version of Silent Storm? ) I don't think it would change a lot to ask you for the rest of the dlls would it, as I know only one by one about which dll now is missing. Thanks anyway for your help.
  9. I have some other additional information for you guys. I'm some kind of a weapons expert... The "Deutsches Gewehr Modell 98 (Mauser)" (that is the full name of the M98) is, as mentioned before, a weapon mainly used in WWI, but also in some units in WWII. Gewehr means rifle and is longer than a carabine. It was about 1.25m in lenght, which is extremly long for a small arm weapon. The "Deutsches Gewehr Modell 98k" (k stays for "kurz" which means short) was the carabine-version and was only 1.11m in size. It was the main weapon for the German soldier during WWII. For the 33/40 version I have no additional info, as all has been said before.
  10. Never tried Allied to this point, but for Axis I can say it seems normal. I never had any ammo for no PKs unless I retrieved it from missions.
  11. Btw: Thanks for your answer damocles. OK, I figuered out, that I need a certain dll. msvcp71.dll So I grabbed all my C++ CDs I had, to find out, that I have only older versions of this dll but not the requiered. Even on the Silen Storm CD was an older version (msvcp60.dll). Now: If anybody has this dll (and don't tell me download it from Microsoft because they don't have dlls to download (at least I didn't find any)) then please notify me.
  12. Hmm... when i try to build the map, there appears an error message telling me that there is a runtime error with the program dataimport.exe . (abnormal program termination) Could it be, that it ain't working because of this? The title of the error message contained "MS C++ Runtime Library". Could it be, that my installed compiler (or the library) disrupts the building of the level? I haven't experienced any problems so far with my compiler.
  13. Hi there, my first post on this board! I have read the tutorial about mapping, etc. which helped a lot with mapping. I also enjoy the hotseat multiplayer modus so I thought about building my own hotseat maps. Now I have a map, even several deploypoints for all four groups. Sadly I can test the map in the editor only with one little group of three men. So I naturally want to play it ingame. And now comes the problem: I switch to my mod in the game, then I type "multiplayer" in the console. After that I enter the mapnumber into the mapselection field. But instead of my map, only a little cozy spot of grass appears... how the heck can I activate my map? Do I have to "build" the map first in the editor or something like this? I really don't have a clue what else to do. Maybe will it only work, when the map is created in the "Original Game"? Thanks for your help.
