  1. As I could not find an online translator for Norge to English I am curious as to the history of the Poster/avatar. It looks like a propaganda poster, so curious as to when it was made... Thanks
  2. I met my first PK's in the Ural Mtns. It was my 3rd mission in the Urals. It was a killer mission. Took me forever to kill the first 2 PK's. Only my Sniper was able to do much damage. It was funny ended up with 2 people sniping away and the rest playing Medic. No one returned home from that mission with any Green in their health bar. I showed up thinking I was prepared for anything... But seems I wasn't prepared to kill PK's. There are lots of spoiler posts for the Ural PK mission.... Good Luck and Have fun! I know I did even though my kids said I was just sitting over there muttering "oh $hit" LOL
  3. The U.S. retail version is 1.2 now. Not sure about the editor, more details may help those who might have a clue, ie. What OS are you running? XP? Professional or Home? Memory...?
  4. The stun weapons are thought to work only after the target is below 50%VP, my experience seems to support this. Last capture still showed postive VP, ie. 13/115... Axis seem to have the rifle, Allies get a pistol.
  5. I am just curious as to what Biggles does in R/L(Real Life). As for the forums...I can't say. In my case I try not to buy a new game until I read a few reviews. Which can add 3 months to my purchase and even then last thing I want to do when I get home from working on computers all day is fight with my PC to install a new "Copy Protected" piece of software. So when it had a conflict with my system that added more delay to getting to play the game. Great Game, bad copy proctection software on the U.S. release.
  6. What I have run out of at base is the consumables like lockpicks and bandages, especially while raising the skills to be able to use the higher level items that have showed up at base. I find that I don't go home that often anymore. I restock the ammo in the field and run back to "that" random mission with lots of medical supplies. Engineering tools were less of a problem with Master Engineering Perk. Base only issues me 1 of many rare items, 1923 Thompson being one. If I want more Thompson's I have to go to the field... Love my STG but never enough ammo...
  7. Would this be in Switzerland? Berger's Factory? Sounds like the mission that I am on. I had a cut scene showing the PK's moving in the the lower level from the garage doors, that was my only clue as to where I needed to go on the map after I had killed all the bad guys. I had NO clues checked off. I got all my team in to the room that makes up the space between the 2 garage doors downstairs. Have you damaged the door? Part 2 of Bergers Factory Spoilers, minor.... | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Can you say Ambush? PK's around every corner? Mines everywhere? My poor engineer(hero) needs a seeing eye dog. Can't spot worth a damm and things are always blowing up in his face... He was disarming a door on the top floor and came to in front of a door on the bottom floor, just in time to make swiss cheese out of the 2 coming through the door(love my Thompson with 100 rounds) Everyone seems to be out of Green in the health bar, Medic just raised his skill above 100. Nessie took the "Better Evasion" perk which seem to have reduce the damage that he take when opening the door. Have yet to see Vanguard kick in but perhaps it does not work in turnbased mode... Still having fun thanks all!
  8. You will find some locked containers that are immune to Melee or blowing open that affect plot clues, also some containers contain explosives and will go up, so don't stand too close...
  9. I wondered if that was not the case, as I am always swapping out for the roll of plaster to patch up...
  10. Still working on figuring these out myself, but what I can share I will. *Strength Don't know yet(DK) *Vitality Points Get shot, take damage... *Dexterity DK, perhaps use those skills based on Dex? *Action Points Easy, run around. *Evasion Again, get shot at, hit take damage. My Hero (Engineer) who likes to play with explosives, trap the door, remove trap, throw grenade at door instead of retrapping has raised his evasion the highest. Next would be the meatshields who job is to open the doors and tend to get shot up... Still working on just what all a critical bleeding wound raises, but now with enough medic supplies I look forward to a bleeding wound. Everyone gets a chance to raise their medical skills. Shooting Hide As you have seen, use them Melee *Spot Seems like a map with Civies running around is a good way to raise this, Else with bad guys running around or even your team running around hidden. Mines or traps set but the bad guys work too... Throwing Use it. Toss those nades or better yet throwing knifes... *Engineering Set mines or traps and/or disarm them, use a small grenade for training purposes else it may kill you. Someone made a good suggestion of trying to pick the PK Hanger door at base. My problem was running out of lockpicks in the base stores. Less of a problem now that my Engineer has reached Master Engineer(removes skill limit on the advanced items) I do have each member of the team carry Engineering & Medic items for field use. Snipe Medicine Burst *Interrupt To use it you need to have AP's save for the enemies turn. Hard to do if they want to kill you but I often hold on the shot to give a chance on Interrupts and getting off enough shots in the following turn to kill the mob. I cornered 2 enemy engineers in a random encounter and let them run back on forth while I worked on Hide, Interrupt and Spot.
  11. I too have Big Joe in my possession. It was on the random encounter described above. I think that I had my at the same location on the regional map. I was looking for Big Joe but I had a different map in mind. Not sure I would have checked the attic this time(I do try to scope out containers on all the maps), but I had a minor problem with a big grenade or 3  As I was laying waste to the bad guys on the map I saw Big Joe ammo on the remains of the 2nd floor of the house. When I climbed upstairs I found much to my delight Big Joe and ammo. I reloaded the map start and found that indeed there was a locked chest in the attic. If I can figure out how to get jpg's here I will send them in for posting... Been having fun looking at all the different random maps that pop up. A lot of good fun to be had. Thanks for all the Fun Nival and for the support Biggles : ) P.S. I never did get that Hatch Cover open...
  12. Sor far the best Familiarity I have earned on a weapon is 10. Perhaps one of the perks is a faster reload? Still having fun and still trying to figure the game out : )
  13. Still wondering the same thing myself. Everytime I get my familiarity up on a weapon I either switch it out for something better or swap to the off-hand weapon for a few rounds....
  14. Place mines and set gernades as traps on action items. Each of those will exercise your engineering skill.
  15. Ahh X-Com : ) still playing at my house... But Tips, First thing is my Team Hides and Crouches. Then we stop realtime so the Enemy does not get the drop on us. Always use the buddy system. Usually only half the team moves up in a turn, saving those AP's so we can drop what ever interrupts we get. Scoped Rifles are everyones friend. Each Team member carries medic supplies for his/her and the medic's use. Medic carries an assortment of what he can use. Can't always fix that Wound or Crit with that, try this other item. My engineer used the Advance lockpick in the field even though he did not have the skill to. It worked to advance his skills as the basic lock pick was no longer being resupplied at base. Carry more that one weapon, it cost nothing to drop one and pull out the pistol and unload it at the enemy that just came around the corner. Going around the corner I usally send one of the high VP meatsheilds around first in case of enemy fire. Lastly and most importantly Save is your Friend and can save your life... My engineer survived the explosion... going through the 2nd story window...Said it was only a scratch... but did not survive the landing in the street below.
