  1. Sure. Despite being smaller and less active, I find this place much more informative than the official forum. Less noise.
  2. Problem solved. I started with DxDiag, which informed me in LARGE LETTERS that the most recent nvidia drivers that I had installed had not been certified for use under 98 (apparently they only certify them for ME / XP anymore), and the direct3D test failed on every count. So I downloaded the 43.xx drivers suggested by Kitaro and they work like a charm (despite not having being certified either, but they pass the test at any rate). I guess Win98 doesn't like the newest nvidia drivers handling my card. Thanks for the suggestions guys, you realy helped me out!
  3. thanks for the quick suggestions guys! I'm gonna give 'em a try tonight.
  4. Hi, I posted this earlier to the Nival forums, but I've had no replies yet, so I thought I'd cross-post here as you guys seem to know what you're talking about. Hope someone can point me in the right direction with this problem I'm having: I'm playing the UK version on a AMD Athlon 1700+ system running Win98 with 256MB and a MSI GeForce3 200 TI VT-Pro with 128 MB. After I installed the game, it started up on the lowest graphics settings (which run very very smoothly). However, changing these settings crashes the games in various ways: For instance, if I change resolution from the 800x600 32 bit it starts with, to 1024x768 32 bit, I will see the config screen change resolution, but when I leave the config screen, the screen corrupts and freezes, and I have to blindly ALT-F4 Windows into a restart. If I change texture quality, again I will see the config screen change (it looks somewhat smoother), but leaving the config screen now crashes me right back to the desktop without any error. All of the above with the out-of-the-box graphics drivers, so I then tried downloading the latest drivers from nvidia, which only makes things worse; it installs fine, and even adds some tabs to my display properties, but when I start the game now, even in safe mode, it won't start and just pops up a message saying my card is unsupported. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong? I mean, even if some fancy options are not supported, I should be able to change resolution at least, shouldn't I?
