  1. So far I got to level 15 on impossible level with a 2-member team. What's your experience?
  2. Why do you want to train an engineer in the first place??? In my first campaign in normal level, I tried hard to give my engineer every opportunities to train up his engineer skills. Due to Master Engineer ability bug, he still can't use the best equipment in the end of the game (I managed to get his skill close to 70). On my second impossible campain, I had only a scout and a sniper. When I went to a mission has to have an engineer, I just recruited one then. My characters are at level 13, and the roster gives me level 10 engineers. Guess what their engineer skills at? 98! So don't waste your time on this. Cut this guy loose from your team; it's not worth it. If you have to have a 6 pack, just get another sniper or soldier!
  3. Thanks Briggles... I unplugged the mod (faster animation, which really helps), but still doesn't work. I guess we just have to wait for the patch then.
  4. Ok, I just got this wired problem on my third campaign. If I shoot the gas tanks (which would have caused a chain explosions) will instantly crash the game to desktop. I said it was wierd because I don't have this problem on my first game. I actuall loaded up the previous game at the exact sam location, and exact same settings, the explosion went fine, and I am not booted to desktop. Anyone else having the same problem. Please cast some lights here. I am stuck and can't move forward...

  7. Thanks for the advice! But is faster shots actually working? As I tested it, it seems still cost me 6AP before shooting.
  8. Some abilities I am just not sure what they do. Take Sinpper's abilities for example: Faster Shots w/o cost for shot preparation. I tested it but can't figure out how it saved AP when shooting. Aim before shot: Allow you zero-in on a target as if they had already taken one shot at the target previously. Again, I can't see the benefits clearly. Some abilities are either reduntant or I am not sure if they can stack together. master sniper: +20% critical chance and +50% critical severity in snip mode ambush: +20% critical chance and +50% critical severity on unawared enemy. there are also 2 seperate abilities which give +10% critical chance and +25% critical severity respectively. The question is: are these stackable? More confusion is this one: Always inflict critical on ranged attack. I don't expect a snipper will go up close and personal, and he/she should be using a rifle (ranged attack) always, so the other abilities which grant +% in critical hit are kind of useless. If someone (Briggles?) can help me to clear up the confusion, I would be able to start a solo game on impossible level 8)
  9. After testing the scout and sniper, I think sniper is better at spot, a little weaker in hide, but much better in sniper skill. also, the special abilities of sniper are more useful...
  10. I think this is the ONLY silenced scoped rifle in the game! I got it too in the mission you mentioned. Any luck for allies to get this weapon too?

  14. Thanks for all the tips guys... Throwing skill for grenades can be expensive, but you can do that with throwing knifes. It only costs 8 AP to throw in to your feet. If you have 8-10 knives, you can do throw them all in one turn, collect them, and repeat. Engineering skill is hard to raise because limited number lock picks. I have a bunch of mine pickers, so I set up booby traps first then mine pick it back, and repeat. some door just impossible to pick I guess. Also, I have a question for snipe the head in impposible level: the chance to hit drops dramatically compare with normal level: say 100% to shoot body, but only 10% in the head. The games comes with a mod: head shoot should kill. I have tried to shoot the head of the enemy several times, but none gives me an instant death. I don't know how this works...
