    Uniform mod

    There is a mod that changes Axis uniform and the Allied one is a work in progress. You can DL it in the "Files" section of this site. The .zip file contains a readme, a jpg of the uniform changes and a directory with 2 files in it. Just place that directory in your S2 folder, lauch the game, select custom games from the main screen, select the uniform mod from the mod list, click ok and then start a new game. Enjoy.
  4. Can i create a total new weapon? I mean can my modified weapon be a new one named e.g. Sea Devil Mk.II that doesn't replace the old SD?
  5. I support the Warhammer 40k mod, the UFO mod and the Colonial Marines mod. Then a "What If" of S2, placed in the American Civil War or in an "alternate past" like the one in Iron Storm. And regarding the Terrorism mod, what about a GI Joe/Cobra mod? :wink:
  6. Argh! Yes! Maps spawns enemies... i learned it in the hard way: i had both grenadier and medic deeply wounded (you know, bandaged but unable to use weapons) so i sent them near the exit zone to keep them away from the fight, but after 3 turns 3 enemies entered the sector just 2cm behind them and happily opened burst fire!! :?

    I completely agree with you about S2 not being JA3, but regarding UFO:AM (a game that i like after all) i think its developers played slightly dirty: from the title to the interface their game is done to collect UFO fans (geoscape, bases, UFO interceptions and so on...), but then when people says "WTF, you screwed up UFO!" they immediatly say "NONONONO, this is not UFO's sequel". IMO if they would have done like Nival did with S2 (a game to collect JA2 fans BUT with its OWN, well defined, DIFFERENT identity), they would have recived a lot more of positive reviews and a lot less complaints...

Ok, we got it: i deleted and started a new mod and everithing worked properly: now my 2 squaddies have the uniform i like and i finally can start playing (yes, i admit it... i started messing with the editor just after the first game mission because i wasn't happy of some of my teammembers's clothes... i'm a sick person... :? ). According to your e2 xplanations i guess that is possible to select "AP for Inventory" + "Headshot should kill" + my mod because, at a first look, they seems to refer to different tables. Has anyone ever played with more than two mod? Is it safe? Thankyou again for your help.

Thank You Biggles: now that you suggested it, i remember that the first time that i changed Reggie's model i accidentally pressed "reset values" or something like that instead of "Ok"... then i tried to reselect the correct skeleton but apparently i missed something. My new question is: If i start from scratch, deleting my new mod folder and all the files, and i select a new database when lauching the editor i should have all the parameters i messed up resetted to original values shouldn't I? (can't try now 'cause i'm at work...). So i can easily play my mod (when it will work) with the "headshot should kill" one without problems... sweet. Thank you again.
  12. Hi to everyone. I have some question regerding my first modding attempt: 1) I was trying to do a simple thing: give Reggie a Mike/Fritz-style uniform without helmet, and give Eagle the terrorist officer's trenchcoat (the one without hood). So i followed Darth Valium's (really precious) walkthrough: changed the skeleton type of the 2 characters and then used ingame save. But when i started the new game with my new mod, only Eagle was changed: Reggie had his standard grenadier outfit. I re-opened the mod, and saw that both had the skeleton as i previously selected... so why just Eagle got changed? Any suggestion? 2) I read that if you select mods with the ingame interface, just the last selected will be activated. So my question is: the ADDMOD tool just adds mod to unmodded savegames or is also able to stack multiple mods in one save? 3) If i open a previously created MOD and change something, will my modded savegame keep the new modifications as well or do i need to restart a new game anyway? 4) The editor created in my new mod folder the following files: A5GAME_DATA.mdf (79.8 Mb) A5GAME_LOG.ldf (2Mb) GAME_ORIGINAL.db (32 Mb) Description.txt and GAME.db I know that a mod to work just needs game.db and description.txt so what about the other big files? Do i need to keep them or can i erase them? Thank you.
  13. Oh, i wasn't complaining about that: actually as i'm blondish and with skinhead-like hair, i'm ok with the female haircut 1-2-3 (from right to left of fem hair slide). And i like the possibility of use some uniforms without helmet. Thanx for the technical explanation.
  14. Would it be possible to have the first release of Oddball_E8's mod? I mean the one that still had sci-fi weapons and no PK upgrade? I definitely like the changes you did Oddball, but i like the sci-fi details as well. Thankyou.
  15. First of all hello to everybody. The custom face creator is a little difficult to manage at the beginning. The main problem that i noticed is that it's less difficult to create a new decent face, without a model in mind, then trying to re-create a real model (your own face for example). The gender slide looks messed i must agree, but if you set all the other parameters before and just give 3-4-5 clicks on the gender bar as last setting, it somehow works. Helmets: if you choose a uniform with a helmet, it keeps the helmet on your custom face, but i noticed a thing (sorry if this is an already known thing): if you want a male helmeted uniform but you don't want the helmet, if you choose female hair (let's say just the 3-4 skinhead-like cuts ) without moving the male hair slide before, your game face will be without helmet. I would have preferred the possibility to modify already existant faces, but after a couple of days of tries i managed to have some decent results.
