  1. Well, I had the impression that human resourses were in short supply and that, in the effort to save the earth, you would take anyone who volunteered. So, the female recruits are available to you. As to whether you recruit and use them, that's up to you as commander. Personally, I'm pleased to see the difference in stats..so many games try to be PC by having equal stats or by compensating to make them even.
  2. Wouldn't it just be far simpler to create a mod that will roll the end credits for you...It seems you are wanting to cheat every aspect of the game that is a challenge... Just my thoughts, it's your game.....
  3. PLEASE let this be some original material. Not a rehash with new names (ala TFTD)
  4. You know, it seems silly..but I agree with you. I would get "into" my troopers more if I could see a Moralman's lumpy head explode into a cloud of (insert Moralman blood color) mist when I get a critical killing shot. Really it doesn't need to be graphic, just to acknowledge the critical hit and the kill. Hopefully they will implement this in an expansion.
  5. Easy solution, take your DVD player from your other machine and put it in the gaming rig. As for emulators, Starforce blacklists DT and A120%, you will need to have the newest versions installed that use random driver names to avoid blacklisting. You will still not be able to run the emulators while playing the game, as Starforce will detect any emulated drives b/c emulators show as SCSI drives, not IDE....there are work around if you are persistant, but this probably isn't the place for them.
  6. I think you have found the answer to your problem..If a base is not connected by active tracks (bright yellow) all production and resource retreival there stops. Personally I leave all by bases connected all the time, b/c I don't care for micromanagement. But it may be more effecient to turn them on and off as needed.
  7. Another hint for capturing alient/cultists, use the slowest game speed (other than pause, of course). I'll concentrate fire on the target and hover my mouse over it until he's unconsious, then I'll pause and cancel all attacks against him. The only weapons I would avoind are ones that will take them from injured to dead in one hit..ie shotgun or .50 cal sniper..Submachine guns at close range are good b/c the low damage per hit reduces the odds of a critical accidently killing you target. BTW, I find grenades are crap..they never land where they should, and if they do, you can guarantee that the target has moved as the grenade floats through the air..I suppose they have merit for clearing crowded rooms though.
  8. I believe I recruited a human that was armed with a pipe. I remember removing it from his inventory and it disappeared. Should have kept it in the backpack. If I took the pipe on a mission and dropped it, would I be given the option to research Indoor Plumbing?
  9. Now if they could only increase the speed of the projectiles from the LAW and grenade launcher so that you can no longer out run them! They also need a "ready shot" firing mode. As it is I cant shoot fast enough to hit someone who runs past a doorway even if I'm already aiming at the door.
  10. Excellent! BTW, Does this actually switch the attributes, or how they are interpretted. In other words, if I'm starting a new game after the patch, is this neccessary?
  11. Speaking of the patch...I played a bit with it last night and I think my cyborg's infra vision is no longer working, or it's been nerfed. I used to pick up enemies across the map, esp. Muckstars. Now he is never the first to notice enemies. It could be other variables (daylite missions, desert map etc.) that may now effect this ability. Let me know if you have the same problem. If so, is it fixed by starting a new campaign after the patch.
  12. Really though, I'd wait until us "beta testers" work out the bugs and they release a patch before handing over any $$
  13. I've only had 2 CTD so far and I've been playing for over a full week. Admittedly I haven't reached the Wargot yet, and I also apparently have a much slower pace of play than others. One CTD occured the first time I played when I went to equip my squad before a mission and the other was as a mission was loading. I did have one bug that required me to load a previous game (thank you, autosave). In that case all of my equiped weapons disappeared, they were gone from storage and inventory.
  14. While on the subject, on the missions where you try to abduct the leader of a non cooperating ally territory to get them to join you. The text says that this would result in you claiming the area without bloodshed. Everytime I've tried this it's turned into a bloodbath and I've lost favor with that faction just as if I'd attacked them out right. Do you need to use stealth and avoid killing anyone? Or are you supposed to wait until you have better technology?
  15. For very early game..In one of my games I "accidently" attacked a human provence (didn't read the briefing) and snagged a XM-8 and a M-4 in my second mission. I had to be sparing with the ammo for a while, but it really helped.
