  1. This is all fascinating stuff. But I have a quick question: What is this Viewer you're referring to?
  2. I like playing games un-modified, so I voted No. Plus, as Zombie and BB said, you need the un-modified data when looking through the game files (which is something I was doing with Mike not long ago).
  3. Well I did have 2GB RAM to begin with and I've turned off the "annoying security messages", so maybe that makes it run a bit better. Who knows...
  4. Sorry to dredge up a 2-year-old thread, but I was just browsing the Motion Scanner page on the Wiki and remembered this. Now reading through it once again, I have a few questions: 1) Was it ever figured out what the 15x15 blip oscillates up to? Could it be that 13x13 is the largest blip (oscillating up to the 15x15), making a total of 5 levels of detection? In other words, is there any visible difference in values higher than 25? (I know I'm pain, but I can no longer check these things myself ) 2) Is it only the Sectoid and Tanks that vary in UNITREF[61]? Were all other units checked? 3) What proven information from this thread can we put on the Wiki?
  5. Besides some minor conflicts such as X-COM CE, I love Vista. My computer actually runs a lot faster now than it used to under XP. Anyway, each to their own...
  6. I get the exact same thing
  7. It sounded too complicated to set up, talking about making special folders and mounting them or something. I got confused. I'm a simple person when it comes to software. I need programs that say, "Do you want to install?" then you click "Yes" and it's all done and you can run it
  8. As much as I love UFO, I'm not sure I can be bothered doing duel boots and such just for 1 game...
  9. So if one corner of a Cyberdisc is at GZ 100, the other 3 will be at 90, making the total health damage 370, is that correct? (ignoring modifiers that is)
  10. I was reading over the Alien pages of the wiki and it states in the Sectopod and Cyberdisc pages that because they take up 4 squares, they receive 4x the damage from HE. Is that true? I would have thought that each segment would be calculated independently, and if one segment reached 0 Health, then the whole unit would die. I didn't realise each segment's damage was cumulative.
  11. I wanted to show them as emotionless, not killing because they're evil, just because it's their nature. The UFOpaedia states that "the 'skin' of this creature appears to be an organically created protective armour", so I wanted to convey the "armour" part and thought a hexagonal design would suffice.
  12. Thanks everyone! They're just my fav for some reason. The concept of a cybernetically-enhanced super foot soldier just seems cool to me. Looking at that pic again though, I really should have made them a little... bulkier I think a Chryssalid will be my next venture. It'll be hard to break the "smiling xenomorph" image though
  13. This is my attempt at more realistic-looking Mutons. It was originally sketched as a film/game storyboard concept, but then I was so happy with how it turned out that I figured it might look alright vectored and coloured. I know they kind of came out looking like monkey-human hybrids, but isn't that really what Mutons are: green Apemen! Anyway, my shadowing is off too, but I hope you'll all forgive me Enjoy... http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z136/Danial79/RealMutons.jpg The Full HD (1920x1080) version can be found here at my DeviantArt page, or by clicking on the image. P.S. Zombie, can you add the full-sized one to my Fan Art section if possible. Cheers P.P.S. I'm going to try my hand at another type of alien next time, I promise
  14. Thanks. I had a flurry of activity on there yesterday, but I can't think of much else to do now.
  15. I was reading through some gaming news on Gamespot and came across this. It states: Sounds like good news for all of us
