  1. perhaps im too deep into Xcom and perhaps someone develops a remake from ufo (dunno how far the xenocide team really is) think i will just organise me an old pc and play ufo & tftd .... :inlove:
  2. to make this short (in non alphabetical order) -blaster bomb like rocket system -more details on research with pics to each item -turn based tactical system, could be like apo .. decide to play rt oder tb (hopefully the engine is flexible enough) -sorta tanks like originals had -fundings from organisations or countries -more sorts of aliens -lower ammount of conventional weapons -> increase effektivesness of xcom weapons vs aliens as example -base building my personal thoughts not a complete list just the major points .. ufo:a is a very good game but perhaps i am too much "poisoned" from ufo and tftd that i`m amazed on the one side from it and disappointet on the other (comparing to ufo/tftd)
  3. totally change of weaponry (dreaming of rifle;gauss;laser;plasma) generally make it like ufo&tftd add fundings add more ufo`s that need to be researched etc etc etc argh ufo:am is really awesome but i miss ufo&tftd (imagine both titles with the aftermath engine .. perhaps we get the tools to do but i dont think the engine code will be that open for change to turnbased,more ufos,lesser confusing armors&weapons,fundings by countries or organisations and ->BASE BUILDINGS<-) nevertheless Altar did a great job on am .. so go buy the game so we can hope for a sequel (perhaps we can convince Altar to be an exp pack or a standalone version like ufo or tftd if we ask nicely
  4. think i made it half thru the game now and got some ideas to write down before i forget them first i want to say its my personal opinion and that u:am is an awesome game ..perhaps i am just infected with ufo 1 & 2 too much i dont know the exact ending but the ufo:aftermath sequel could be like the following after defeating the aliens world was rebuild [insert long text here] the genetic advances during the alien war made it possbile to reproduce life forms that formerly crowded earth (insects,flowers,animals) sadly phönix army did not kill ALL of the aliens ....(you have to discover that of course) (aliens hidden in a camoflaged bunker system [perhaps under a big city] are secretly building a communication system to call for help from the mothership[which is galaxys away] that hosts the portal from part1 and are rebuilding a portel in that base too) alien activity could be bit like in apo.. not that much activity at first [difficulty curve slowly moving up] but as soon as the portel is rebuild *uhoh* .. things that are needed in part2 (my opinion of course) -a turn based combat system (yeh rts is ok but tb is way more fun and tactical to play[reference the ufo parts and the jagged alliance series yeh even the awesome fallout series has it) -fundings [Money!!](put in organisations or countries both has its pro`s and con`s.. generally a market system for sell/buy like ufo had) -guided missiles (blaster bombs are a good example here .. man that was fun .. could be very expensive to build them to keep game balanced) -more details on research and production (pics pics aaand pics to each thing developed/equipment part) -the armor vs weapons thingie made me mad (for what do i research days long when the weapon impact gets caught in the shields ? best example here are the useless plasmaguns.. ) -the ufos (arr very nice design but way to small corridors/levels) would also like to see some more ships and a discription what they do (would be nice salt to research part) -more sorts of aliens (like the muties but aliens) thats it for now hehe

    gnahh those aliens are so frigging unfair ??? they even dare to shoot at my squad and kill or heavy dmg my men .. oh well the difficulty setting must be Hell on Earth i think one wrong step and i loose ppl .. time to develop some new strategies at the moment i get my ass whooped by aliens in tactical missions and @ geoscape by the biomass well nm *sob* .. think i will start all over again perhaps i missed an important mission or so

    sure 9mm bullet is 9mm bullet but the bullets case/shell differs in length and design like soviets 7,62mm ammo would never fit in an nato rifle
  8. acting like kinda System does .. but i use always the same armor&weapon setup well my soldiers are kinda specialized (snipers heavy weapons burster) things are going well so far
  9. bahhh !!! stupid parcel brought the game to me yesterday at 16.00 cet ! of course i was not at home (usually parcel only delivers til 13.00 cet) so i have to wait until tomorrow well nm 1 last day to wait .. think i will call the office to get some extra holidays

  13. did you disable hardware acceleration for your graphics card ? if not do so http://www.xcomufo.com/x3dl.html there you find all the stuff needed P.S i run xp prof corp edition and beside some crashes every 2-3 hours (out of game of course) it runs perfect here if you need the vdm sound tool to emulate a sb card or need the tool to fasten up the mouse gimme a shout and i`ll mail it to you
