  1. Actually, I'd have to disagree with that hypothesis. Whilst it's true a lot of soldiers would have died, and there would only be a few left, I think it's very likely that there'd be a higher proportion of military personnel trained pre-Fall than people untrained. (By which I mean, if there were 100 million soliders pre-fall and a billion civvies, 8% of soldiers may have lived whilst only 3% of civvies, for example, NOT that soldiers post-Fall outnumber civilians.) If you think about it, the people who will A) Know how to survive under difficult situations, B) Be able to control others in said situations and C) Defend themselves against alien/bandit attacks would have the best chance to survive, and many of those people would be military/ex-military. Also, all the important people who ran underground to their bunkers would probably take their bodyguards as well - more tough people, well trained (At least governmental ones. Blair's and Bush's bodyguards aren't going to be nobodies.) I'm pretty sure it'd be Delta Force, the SAS, Navy SEALs and so on who'd have the highest rates of survival. And in addition, it's pretty likely they'd be assigned to your unit. Phoenix Company wasn't created with just ordinary missions in mind, they're the ones for the toughest jobs. So even if the number of people in the pre-Fall militaries of the world who survived was low, it'd be likely those that did survive would be put into Phoenix Company. So, it's fine for a few hard-core civilians to be in, but most of them should be pretty professional in my opinion. That isn't to say unfunny, just professional.
  2. The German dudes are cool ^__^ After blowing up something really puny with a huge-ass RPG launcher, which sent blood flying 200 feet across the level, what does he say? I think I got him. xDDD Silly foreigners.
  3. Yeah, that woman's voice annoys me so much that they get... dum dum dum SHOT! xD And the male lisp voice is terrible as well, but I merely fire them. I quite like Malcolm's though... sounds like someone, but I don't remember who...
  4. Erm, so if some aliens attack and we are ten years off a decent gauss gun, we're going to try and get more money put into that, rather than trying to steal some of their awesome plasma/sonic/laser/whatever weapons and get them sorking for us in a week? No, we'll steal their stuff and either use it, or make hybrid weapons, or at the least base our own advancements with their tech. Well he probably *is* from Bumf*ck, Idaho. So what? I doubt the spores made much distinction about who survived... For the record, I don't mind the speech much, though it could stand some upgrades. I like the idea of battle armour, something like the carrier in Alien. Only with guns instead of claws. Or it could be super-tough and not carry weapons, but be deadly up close. Also, I want your chopper (I'd assume a Chinook, because they own.) to be sitting there during the battle, maybe it could have some chainguns attached? Or it could be flying around and give a little fire support, or be a spotter unit. Oh, and don't introduce fog-of-war outside of unexplored bases and so on. Do you really find it plausable that a crack team of crack super-pirate-ninjas wouldn't have a look at the area they were about to land in and risk their lives to save the world?
  5. ROFLMAO @ FoetusFajitas!!! Ah that cheered me up nicely =) Thank you! ShortStraw... xDDD Anyways, I don't name mine yet, I'm going to next game I play though. (And that will be soon, because I'm losing bases all over the shop and the Biomass is coming... ) And after an unpleasant debacle in a terror mission in London, I don't use friend's names anymore... *Shudder* Figure I'll try the humorous route =DDD
  6. The Biomass has only just shown up on my game. It's rapidly covering Africa, and a small patch just appeard in the Southern US. The latter is scaring me, because it's growing by the hour and I've not got much chance to stop it right now... I can just see my entire group of Northern US bases disappearing, and only having a couple in the Arctic... but that doesn't seem like a bad thing. My thinking is, maybe you're meant to be pushed up against the wall? Makes sense to me...
  7. I guess I second the general idea of easily changing stats. I'm not really any more than a very rookie modder, so my stuff tends to just be gameplay tweaks and whatnot. But yes, definately the chance to edit stats of various things, and also the ability to change maps, not just to make preset ones like Area 51, but also to (As was suggested) change the factors involved in making random maps...
