  1. Try Silent Storm, its much better in that tactical field, only problem is that the combats when they start are turn-based only. Its just like jagged alliance, real time and when the shooting starts its turn-based. Why can't there be some real-times like Apocalypse. It's real-time rocked, run it on real time and if you panic just hit space, then you can have your nervous breakdown in the toilet and come back 30min later. I would propably say AF sucks (you propably have noticed if you have read my other topic), but theres one bad thing in it that flips the whole thing, it's X-COM. Silent Storm is much better than this, but it's not X-COM.
  2. Yes, it would be nice to know that my soldiers skills and attributes make some difference. If my soldier is good at sneaking, he could sneak behind the enemy and slit its throat. If my soldier is good at observation, he would spot enemies before they spot him. If hes good at marksmanship, he could shoot that alien in the eye. If my soldier had good willpower, he could resist mindcontrol. If my soldier was strong, he could punch trough walls etc... But looks like none of these makes a difference. Just remembered a thing more, if I attack a alien base, why do they a combatjump right on to of the alien base in the middle of reticulans? The flying alien base has weapons, so it would be logical that a landed base has too. This brings a few questions, why isn't my superslow Chincook shot down and don't my soldiers and pilots have any brains in them. Looks like they dont have cause they dont return fire either. Myself, as I have been a short while in the army and have never had any real experience know that I want to be as far away fromthe enemy, especially if their super aliens, but my soldier like to jump on the aliens and become toast. My soldiers are insane, whats the point of having a long range weapon if your gonna use it 10 feet from the enemy? I tough that sniperrifles had the advantage as beeing good at shooting enemies who can't retilate. In one situation I would let my troops land on an alien base, after it would have been bombarded, that when. Whats the frigging idea with the psi helmets? I never got to use them, while I had made my first, all my guys had heavy- or bio-armour, and then you can't put it on. Great, why can't they modify the heavy so it would have a built in psi helmet? wouldnt weight much more. Why can't I put it on the bioarmour? the helmet looks so big you could ram an elefants head inside... Now I'm out of ideas again, but I'll be back.
  3. Yes their tech is biological, and their armours are too. the aliens are wrapped on goo wich generates a force field and would enhance their attributes, enhance not lift them to heroic. The reticulans with their flimsy arms and stumpy legs, they should have a awful strenght and agility, that big head must sway in all directions while they run. The armour could enhance them to a awerage human, wich would be a lot for them. My biological armour is the same stuff, just modified so they fit humans, so says the briefing about the armours, why dont I have all my soldiers stats at heroic? Why can't the humans reverse-engineer their bio-armours? If you know how they work you could make a energy weapon wich neutralises that field, then another soldier just snap fire at their big face and kablooie. Now I have to fire at least 2 times with any of my biggest weapon to make him toast. This takes us to another things, the collapsible weapons, wheres the sense when my soldier tries to assault anything, he has to wait to see an alien, then he gets the idea to deploy it, when its deployed the alien has fired 2 times at my guy taking 1/3 health, okay the alien is toast and my guy immeadetly packs it and throws it over his head? But while packing it he sees another alien and has to deploy it again and the alien has taken another 1/3 of his life. Why can't he just go "there", deploy it and make sure everything he sees is kebab? This would make awesome basedefense weapon, I'd like to see the alien coming trough that. And now psi, it works quite well, but it could have that panic in it. the thing here thats not realistic is that my soldier, invading an alien base, goes around a corner and meets a reticulan. Both shold be stunned and drawing their weapons or kicking. But nooo, the reti comes calmly around the corner and "zap", mincontrols him. The unrealistic thing here is that my soldier has Heroic Willpower and Intelligence, and Super-Heroic in Psi, but the alien can in one zap take him over, it's not logical.
  4. That would make some sense... but ALL the reticulans are level 25 and have heroic in everything, the suit cant do that... why does it not boost my soldiers attributes?
  5. spoilers ahead... Okay... I played the game trough, it was nice, but not close to x-com saga... The tactical was good, but had some flaws. The strategic part really quite bad, it had some nice things, like 3 fighters at one, fighter cover for large ufos... but why cant I build multiple items? why the hell can I only make 1 helmet per time??? these are all small things. But the most annoying thing was the reticulans, when you research one, the report says their from a planet with lover gravity, wich means their weaker than humans, and the report says that they move slover and more careful because of this... But what do we get? kick-ass retikulars who are level 25 with heroic in every attribute and skill... this does not look like their weaker than humans, they are 3 times stronger than my best soldier... and to boot the aliens have much better weapons... This is not logical, I think it would be better if humans where physically stronger, but the aliens would have the advantage in technology... and the humans as we are quite good in adapting could in the finale have the advantage as we are physically stronger and could adapt their tech... Another thing is that the aliens are outcasts/rebels, wich means they should have limited resources, a handful of battleships, bases... they propably dont have the things/material to make more of big ones... fighters and other small ships yes... you could not drop any big ones in the early game, just in the end,or in the middle game you could storm a battleship with a swarm of fighters... the bases the aliens have could move, take some strategic position and send troops from it and some base could make more fighters... Okay got a little lost there, but the main point was WHY ARE THE RETICULANS SO STRONG? Its not realistic, logical and other stuff...
