Disable EAX in the sound option screen if you have it enabled. That did it for me.

I can't freakin wait. Nevermind all of the high-profile, over hyped games such as Half-Life 2, Doom 3, etc, etc, etc. This is the game that I have been waiting for. I really hope that I am not disappointed.
