  1. Would you please provide Installation instructions? I went to the Download site, and there are 6 files. Do I just download them all to the same directory?? What about the zip file? Do I just click on the EXE file?? Please provide instructions.
  2. Just finished playing it for about 30 minutes. Nice graphics, but talk about info overload! I hope the manual explains some of the screens. It appears that we may be required to set up mines in various areas to obtain the necessary raw materials. A needless complication in my opinion. Overall, the base management seems way too complicated. Gave me a headache trying to figure things out. Also, some very annoying commentary by NPCs. But my biggest concern is still the dumb AI. I had hoped that any improvements in the game would come from improving the enemy AI, but so far, that doesn't seem the case. Oh well, it is early in the demo so maybe it gets better. My impressions at this very early point are that the Devs added a lot of complication and micromanagement to the base screens, while leaving combat as simplistic and silly as in the previous games.
  3. Hi Kaije, Finished the demo and enjoyed it immensely. That last mission took me 2 hours to complete, sweating it out all the way. Question: there are some spelling errors, small graphical glitches, etc. Do you want feedback on these? If yes, how should I do it -- this forum, private email, etc. Please let me know. Eagerly awaiting the finished product, fgbrooks
  4. Thank you so much for the mod. I am enjoying playing S3 once again. I am at the point where Yosh has given me the task to rescue his daughter. I still have the two civilians with me, Vlad and Mira. Will I be able to train them into something other than civilian after the rescue mission?? I don't have enough money to hire anyone else, so I would like to continue to use them, with the hope that I can "convert" them "soon.
  5. I have NEVER failed to disarm the mines in the narrow corridor!!!! In my version of the game, there is room for my engineer to climb over the obstruction and stand immediately adjacent to the first mine. She then uses a mine probe and disarms them one by one. I have the English version of Sentinels, imported from England, as part of the SS Gold Edition.
  6. You need a laser weapon, which you can get by attacking Cultists. You will usually pick up a laser rifle and a laser pistol, which count as Advanced Human Weapons.
  7. To release the prisoners, there is a switch on the wall in both rooms that unlocks the cells. My problem is in completing the mission. I can't get the Escape objective to show completed. I have killed all of the bad guys, freed all of the prisoners, found the maps, gotten my troops to the arrows at the edge of the map, but I don't get the objective complete. What am I missing???
  8. For some insane reason, the game requires you to FIND the appropriate weapon before you can research its ammo. I was able to get around this for the 0.50 caliber weapon (the Barrett sniper rifle) by manufacturing a Barrett rife, taking it with me on a mission, and dropping it during the mission. Even though at the end of the mission you will not see it in the equipment found list, the game counts it as a "found" weapon. When you get back to the Laputa and the Research section, you will find that you can now research the ammo. Works, btw, with any weapon.
  9. Hi Slaughter, PCGamer just came out with reviews of both H&S and UFO-AS. They gave H&S a 61/100, noting that the gameplay was "unforgivably unforgiving", and that its "a masochists-only affair." Unfortunately, based on my experience, I have to agree. For UFO-AS, they gave it a 51/100, noting that it had a terrible enemy AI, and that gameplay was boring and repetitive. Sadly, once again my own experience mirrors that of PCGamer.
  10. I have an Excel Spreadsheet that gives you the info you are seeking. Problem is that I don't know how to attach it to this reply.
  11. I have 8 total, 7 Humans and 1 Psionic, all lvl 12-14. All are multi-class, with a Specialty. For example, my Sniper(3rd grade) also has a grade in Scout. I have 1 Sniper, 1 Scout, 1 Medic, 1 Technician, 1 Gunman, 2 Troopers, and a Psionic. I have been playing on Experienced, and I kick ass against anything I've come up against so far, using conventional weapons. One of my best killers is my Lvl 14 Commando (3rd grade), armed with a Katana, that can take out anything in 2-3 swipes. I get very attached to my troops, even the ones that constantly complain. I have three days to go before the Alien Spaceship gets to Earth, and then we will see what happens.
  12. Hi, Has anyone else encountered the problem where after a Cultist mission, where there are numerous pieces of Psionic equipment, like vambraces, psi suit, etc., shown in the capture screen, they DO NOT show up in the Squad screen back on the Laputa. This has happened on every cultist mission. The conventional weapons show up in the Squad screen, but not the psionic equipment. I have a level 3 Psionic that would love to use some of the seemingly captured equipment, that appears to disappear on its way to the Laputa.
  13. I'd like to put in my two cents. First, I didn't cheat. Second, I had Viper in my team. Viper will spot the hidden enemy, and can usually take them out with no problem. You need, and Viper has, a very high Spot skill. Now, you need to attack from two different directions. I send my Engineer and a Soldier to the back tunnel. I use LA as my engineer, and she has no problem disarming the mines. Now, for the main assault. As has been said above, if you step through the doorway, you're finished. The key is to kill or disable the enemy WITHOUT stepping through the doorway. How do you do this? Easy. First, Viper has to have the Dart rifle and all of the darts. Second, you need a Soldier (usually my character) armed with a machine gun. She stands to the left of the open door and fires on the box stack immediately to the right of the door. This will reveal an enemy, who she can then kill with MG fire. Now I have her blast away at the wine barrels. Most of the time, this will draw out an enemy at the far side of the room. If this happens, Viper steps up and plugs him with the dart rifle. Now you have two down, two more to go. Now rush the door with Viper (or your best shot). The cut scene plays, and you are in the big room. Have Viper shoot the bad guy to the right with the dart gun. Remember, the dart rifle is a one-shot "kill". Have the Soldier and Engineer rush in through the back door. The Soldier takes out the last bad guy, and if he managed to set his bomb, your Engineer should easily be able to disarm it. I hope that this helps.
  14. Hi KoMik, I played all 4 of your test maps, and they worked just fine. No crashes, no problems at all. The AI was excellent as well. Very nice to have some new Sentinels stuff. I especially liked the enemy use of grenades, even if I did get blown up twice. One question: I noticed that I was leveling (gaining xp) very quickly. Did you change the xp growth rate? If yes, how did you do it??
