I managed to complete this "nightmare" of a mission earlier today. Tatics? Lot's of med kits,MP7's on burst fire,grenades,one bazooker man,a runner once inside to get the package. I managed to kill the aliens in the starting forest purley by shooting them and using a rocket,and then healing my units. Dodging the rocket alien at the gate,then shooting him and healing again. Set up an ambush at either side of the choke point entrance to the base. Sent in one unit to lure them out and then picked them off in a cross fire. Once inside... Killed a coupel of aliens with group burst MP7 fire. Sent the runner to get to the package,picked it up , and then hid the runner. With the other 6 members of the squad i secured the way back for the runner. Run back with package = mission complete! yay \o/ go me! Laters!

Last night , on an Oriental wilderness mission,one of my team was totally stuck inbetween trees at the start of the mission. The 7 units spawn on the map close together,i could move them all out except one. One of them was surrounded by trees and totally unable to move from the get go. Both greneads and rockets couldnt free her,so i just re-loaded my save before the mission , and the next time it was fine. (random map generator) Laters!

Umm , it' not me that has the problem Slaughter m8ty. (see original thread starter). The point about 16/32 bit colour is a valid one though. Games overlap the desktop , if your desktop is in 16 bit colour , and you overlay a game on it wich is in 32 bit colour (or vice versa) it can cause problems. You also dont want your game in a higher resolution than your desktop (this is ok vice versa though) , really the desktop should be equal to or higher in resolution than the game. Laters!

It's weird that some people have performance problems. The original poster has a similar PC to mine,in that it's easilly more than enough to run the game fully maxed out,mine: AMD 2200xp @ 2.Ghz 1Gb DDR333 PC 2700 128Mb GF 4 TI-4600 Windows XP Pro The game runs fine for me,in fact my comp blows through it with ease. Even with 4xAA and 8x AF with high D3D LOD settings and it's still running smoothly at 1024x768x32 x 100Hz 19". The original poster is on Win XP and is using a Geforce card,same as me,so it cant be any of them i suppose. You on Direct x 9? then again im not sure if the game would run without it,as i have been on DX 9 for ages so i wouldnt know if you cant install it with DX 8. Run DX Diag make sure all is well there: start/run/dxdiag Follow all the tests with the DX Diagnostics utill,but if your other DX games run fine then there wont be a problem with DX i suppose. Must be some conflict somwhere maybe. Laters!

1024x768 only? not to worry no big deal I decided to add 4x Anti Alaising and 8x Anisotropic filtering and turned my D3D settings up high. The result is very nice,it's smooth as silk to run,no performance issues what so ever,and i particulary like the smooth and fluid animation on the units you controll. That was somthing i was hopefull of "good animation" and im glad to say it's got it. Having fun? Yes actually I only got it home around an hour ago (im in the UK),and have been fiddling with settings,so i have only just finished doing the tutorial. Allready im having fun and looking forward to get deeper into the game,so far im both impressed and happy. Controlling the game is easy as pie,but i do play a lot of Warcraft 3 so im kind of used to it. I also like the equipment screens and ..... ah i will shut up now lol , you get the idea. Bought the game today! Installed,and it runs fine no problems,and im on Win XP. I cant however enable 1280x1024,for some reason i only have the choice of 1024x768 and given thatim on a 19" Monitor everything looks BIG,i was hoping to use 1280x1024 after reading the FAQ as i dont like 1024x768. I read in the FAQ that the game does support 1280x1024 and my PC is up to the Job: AMD 2200xp 768Mb DDR333 GF 4 TI 4600 I looked in the config.cfg and the settings for resolution are not in there. The setting for resolution is also not in the options menu's within the game. I take it i need to enable 1280x1024 via the game's "launcher" but the only option i have is 1024x768 for some reason. Im running all the latest drivers for my PC too. Does the game support 1280x1024? If so how do i enable it? Thanks in advance!
