    Delhi?!?

Hehe, did any of you ever open a door to find yourself face to face with a baloon fish in a base? that made me sigh, half my squad instantly died since it exploded immediately at sight.
  3. Well, I have 2 snipers, 2 rifle experts, 1 demo expert, one allround and one handguns/scout expert. The two sniper gals carry shotguns in their inventory, and the demo guy a laser pistol. I never refit, i prefer to carry what I need in the backpacks. that means i can switch strats on the fly, that's especially nice in 2 part missions. Snipers switch to shotguns in a base. Often, i will only use those two for base combat. They are both great at dodging and speed, and has high hit points due to heroic willpower. There's almost nothing they don't stop in one shot in a base. and the shotgun sound is so satisfying the allround guy has a grenade launcher, lots of grenades, medkit, and a mp7, he's really stocked
  4. I'm doing this mission now, and I failed the 2 first tried, gonna try more later. what baffles me though is that I've not even seen the biomass, i think. I don't see anything unusual. I got a warning message long before the mission came up, but.. no biomass. Any of you had like that?
  5. Those small psi stingers are the only ones I've seen controlling an enemy, I think that's because they have PSI damage type and the crusher and blaster have EXCEPTION damage type. Could be wrong tho
  6. My favourite on the other hand is probably one of the german ones, I have a german feller called Ludwig in my crew, and one of the female voices, it's another american but a good one.
  7. What I'm wondering is, i got the biomass warning, but I've not seen ANY biomass. How does it look like? It was like a month ago i got the warning now. I've shot down almost all ufo's i've seen, so maybe that's why? About plectrons, never get close. Snipers have a great range, so in wilderness missions at least my 2 snipers can kill them easily before they even get close. In tight urban missions, I had a guy with grenades and one guy with good observation and dodging to scout ahead, and then the decoy would run back, and the grenade thrower pitch at the ground where i thought the plectrons would appear when chasing for the decoy this was mostly early game tho, when my soldiers was chanceless vs plectrons with the crap weapons/crappy skills they had. i also have a grenade launcher/rpg guy who focuses on such enemies also. I only use shotguns in base missions, I keep them in the inventory till the need arises. Can't stress enough how great shotguns are in alien bases and ufo's. Once you get lasers they're also pretty good to use on plectrons because of the range on those weps. This is what I've noticed/done anyway
  8. One of the female american voices is SO bad. And Malcolm's voiceset isn't great either But that female one is worst. The female with the broadest face model and blonde short hair, that's the best description i can give
  9. I miss the alien bases from ufo 1. I sort of enjoy the graphics otherwise, for some reason, but inside ufos and alien bases.. ugh. It looks like a early 70's hippie collective or something The bases in ufo 1 were much cooler! Yeah, and the entering buildings thing. also I'd have loved a more evolved stealth, to further make use of the environment!
  10. I want to add 1 thing I find a bit annoying, and that is how damage is calculated. Or maybe I have it totally upside down. Anyways it seems like then hit % is actually the amount of the max damage you'll do or something like that, so as long as you have a percentage you'll always do damage. I think that increases difficulty quite a bit since aliens often get away at least 1 shot. Correct me if I'm wrong about how it's calculated tho. Another thing, stealth. Is there actually a point to the stealth skill? am I missing something? I really think stealth could have been done better! Otherwise, it's a nice game. It was so long ago since I played xcom 1 that I am not bothered with any changes in gameplay they made in this from the original, I just get a cozy ufo feeling in my body when I play it!
  11. Hehe, side note, malcolm and brian immediately got the boot from my squad. Brian had some abysmally weird stat combo and I didn't know that much about the leveling process then, and malcolm had an annoying voicecet and looked really strange, so i kicked him out too.
  12. the alien bases and small ufo's can be extremely dangerous Mostly because it's cramped, so your snipers etc isn't at full potential. That's when i pull out any sort of shotgun, grin and hope for the best. Well, unless they aren't waiting for you directly at the entry with plasma guns and whatnot, then i just sigh and probably abandon the mission.
  13. Well, sometimes it can be tricky, like the game doesn't register what you're trying to do. I usually step up next to the corpse, and then i have to place the mouse pointer just so; It has to be like on the border between you and the corpse or something, else i get the red no can do circle.
  14. I call them after various historical and mythological personages, big and small. Alaric, Hannibal, Athena, Hector, Jeanne, etc
