You are putting waay too much stock into some random guy who probably never lifted a finger in his life to create something, and was most likely just trying to get a rise out of you - judging by the emotional outbursts in his post (according to the list you made). Constructive criticism is good. Thinly veiled insults, disrespect and acting all condescending as if the guy was some kind of a Silent Storm professor is not and shouldn't be treated with respect either. I haven't finished the game with your mod yet, but so far I absolutely love all the changes and fixed you made. It is a breath of fresh air in the dying community and maybe with some more advertising it could bring more people in (and with your True Terror project maybe even a renaissance of the SS modding community? ) Also yes, I have been lurking for years here and your projects made me finally post again.
  2. Hello, I have currently purchased a new laptop, so I planned to copy over all my modding progress. However, I still plan on doing some little tweaks afterwards, and so I was wondering if I can somehow import my MSQL database over as well? Or is copying over gamedata_original.db enough? Thanks for answer! TL;DR: Basically I am asking what "source files" do I need to copy over to make own mod editable again on other laptop? EDIT: Nevermind. Once again, I've figured it out.

P.S.: Although how exactly doesn't the Encounter mod work with Blunter's? I am halfway through the game and didn't encounter any serious problems so far. No pun intended.
  4. Sorry for necro-reviving this old topic but it seems I have ran into the same issue! Unfortunately, I am not even using Cookie's mod so I have no idea what should be the culprit. My setup is: Blunter's mod 2.3 Ammo and Weapon names fixes Random Storm Encounter mod My own tweaks where I only fixed some spelling errors in the Strings section (and edited the starting appearance of my Grenadier) Tried removing it one by one, experimenting with different orders, nada. Still crashes. Anyone?

  6. Hey there! Thanks for answering. Really helpful. I forgot to specifiy I was talking about S2, heh. I did another playthrough with my tweaks and it seems that the russian weapons ratio dropped significantly, although there is still an officer with a Nagant from time to time. But since he is usually one out of twenty, I guess I can live with it. And yes, I did all my changes in the PCSoldiers section, but my German Male Soldier still refuses to use his new G41 instead of MP40/II. But no sweat, I can deal with it it, I guess. Also, thanks for the tip about updating stuff - the only thing I did so far was rebuilding it again and agai after I was done with my changes. And urm.. yeah, I did delete some entries (that was before I knew I shouldn't do that), but not before setting them to 0. I don't suppose I could revert that back somehow? EDIT : Oh and one more thing I was wondering - If I do some more adjustments to my mod, can I still apply those changes to an on-going save? Basically just "updating" the mod the save is currently using? (all I did now was replacing RPDs from the loot list and fixed some spelling errors in Strings)

So after the headache inducing process of getting the editor working I ran into a bunch of problems regarding the inventory changes. 1) Allied Soldiers using russian weapons annoyed me to no end, so I did some changes in the entire Prefs and Chests sections (mostly setting the quantity of said item to 0, because someone told me that outright deleting it doesn't work). However, I still get Allied Officers trying to shoot me with Nagant pistols etc.. 2) Did some changes to the starting loadout of your characters and other recruits. But while it mostly works as intended, I still can't change my German Soldier's main weapon from MP40/II to something else. Tried everything, including setting up different quantity item, deleting etc. Same problem happens with Ahmad, Fritz and Paco. I cannot change their weapons, nor uniforms (while it works for everyone else) and ingame they are still sporting their old stuff. Yes I did rebuild my mod, used the new folder and even tried to add a mod to a savegame. Nothing worked. So eh... any idea what am I doing wrong here? Hopefully my question is structured better than the last thread, lol Thanks in advance!

Back when Nival forums were still working, there was a topic that went into great detail about possible outcomes, variations, optimal playthrough and order etc. etc. (also with an entire graph) Did anyone by chance managed to save the content of the said topic?   10. Hello! For Silent Storm, I am using Oddball's mod, however I am not a fan of some things there. For example, Olli's medals on his new german uniform keep flickering (probably a conflict of two uniforms being picked at once) and Zinaida has a... really strange haircut to say the least. I also did some research and found out that I apparently can't unpack and mod the .db files (can't edit existing mods?), so I decided to do a little workaround by creating my own mod (which edits Zinaida, Olli and adds a helmet strap to the custom German soldier skin) that would hopefully replace the thing I don't want in Oddball's mod. After testing, it doesn't seem to work, there are still no changes in the original mod. So my question is: Is it actually possible to replace various functions of a mod like that? Or do I need to do something completely different? Or am I just wasting my time here? Thanks for any answer! Nevermind, I got it to work.
