  1. Not sure if anyone's been following this new indie strategy game, Prismata. Their story is hilarious -- it includes spending $6500 to go to a tradeshow, losing the mailing list they gathered there, and then getting thousands more names by posting the sob story on /r/TIFU. Anyways, they recently posted this article about how they chose that name (includes crazy stuff like sound symbolism, word association, etc.), and I thought that the community here might enjoy it.
  2. A friend linked me to this blog post from Lunarch Studios, an independent video game development company. TL;DR: Many pro video game players in games like Hearthstone are complaining that the game depends too heavily on RNG, and too much reliance on absolute luck (rather than "yomi luck," or mind games) can destroy players' enjoyment. Have you ever got discouraged in a game because of too much RNG?
