I had a dream last night involving Katherine Heigl. Not much to do with X-Com, I'll admit, but it was a really good dream. :angel:

I have exactly the same thing happen: sometimes I'll go for a few hours without a problem, then BAM! Suddenly I'm back at the desktop. I now save before and after every mission, so I don't lose too much time. As you say, it's no big deal, but it is a tad annoying. My guess is it's graphics card changes over the last ten years or so - the same thing that stops me playing the first two Thief games.... grrrr....

Kind of an odd poll, really: "Which of these two games, neither of which had anything to do with the X-Com license, affected the X-Com name the most?" I vote for Donkey Kong. That absolutely ruined the whole UFO thing for me. Yup.

I started playing the original UFO again just recently and, last night, sent my poor disheveled newbie team to a terror site. It's February of the first year on genius level, so I'm not sure what to expect and only have basic weapons. My tank rolls down the ramp a little and has a look around. The first thing it sees is THREE chryssalids right next to the landing site. The tank takes a shot, kills one, rolls back up the ramp and we leave. *shudder*
