I dont think ive got the hang of these alien buildings yet, how many of those sunlight shiny orbs do i have to blow up? (dont say "all of them") i cant seem to find them all. And, do aliens just pour constantly into the buildings or what? theres absolutely loads of the blights! :hmmm: Basically, whats the BEST way to finish the second alien base ?

I disagree with bomb bloke completely, the lobster men just took it from me like i was throwing sweets at them, and those brains kept popping out of nowhere, there were times when theyd take an entire squad of men under. i dont know if the playstation version is any different or what, but i wouldnt call it childsplay.. and if it really IS childsplay, that explains why its a game. Apoc is getting quite nitty gritty for me but i wouldnt call it harder than TFTD, and U.F.O is the easiest for me, but still the best. its all a matter of opinion and tactics, if your great at apoc, are you bad at TFTD?

Its a wonder how any of you get past the first mission with these tactics, you either blow them up or yourselves! ive always been fond of either sniping the enemy from long distance with adequately placed sharshooters. (long way around) OR Full on fire fight. Run 15 blokes into the middle of the field and advance as if it was the last battle, (usually ends in heavy casualties) :dontgetit:

I THOUGHT i had it.. i really did, x-com apoc working on xp, sound and everything, i was well chuffed. Then it threw something at me i never expected. Ive only just started going into the alien dimension, im can fly about pathetically in my lil ships and get the crap kicked out of me. But when i try and raid their building, (sleeping chamber) it crashes on me! The bloke appears with his "dont get hurt" poster, and then the game just shuts down as if i'd pressed "alt + F4" Ive never experienced this before, could ANYONE throw some ideas at me to get around my problem. i dont want to attract much pity but this is the first time ive ever got this far on apoc and i want to finish it. p.s go on, tell me, do you like raiding other people as much as i do???

I've got the exact same problem with apoc on my xp. i choose one and it crashes. mebbe theres a patch somewhere, but there doesnt seem to be anyone that really clued up on this subject. Wheres the experts?

Well believe it or not. i was reading one of the other threads on this site and it was talking about a crack. i clicked the link downloaded the crack and BOOM im playing apoc for the first time in nearly a year.. if i knew i was just a click away i wouldve done it the day i got it. :bomber: im so happy! :alien2: only problem now is, the mouse is really super slow during play :hmmm: .. any ideas how to get around it..? AND the sounds all stuttery. ive tried all the other sound options but nothing comes out of the speakers when theyre selected. am i doomed to have a barely playable version of x-com all my life!

HANG ON THERE!. Im having a simialer problem, except i can install it. it just wont work on my xp. it gets to the mircroprose intro and then just dies on me. no errors or nuthin', it just quits. :hmmm: whats all this strong bob was saying about downloading it? where from? do i need my cd key .. TELL ME ! please im desperate.. ive owned apoc now for about 8 months and not played it once.. :alien2: then again That might not work, anyone know about any good patches. obviously ive had a search myself but im thick at this stuff.
