  1. Merry birthday to our Queen Tammy.
  2. I am going to throw out a few ideas, and to check to see if I'm correct in thinking, etc. I want to address several things in this post. I do not have the game installed, so I can't look myself. However, I am pretty sure I will be correct on some things. Given that time is a factor to the game. And that there have been UFO's that have been shot down, over time, who is to say that not all have been spotted, much less shot down? And have joined up and formed bases to operate from, and more? This I need checked, please. Is there a base, by the aliens, set down somewhere, on the first, of the first month, in the game? If so, then see part two. Following up on my previous point, is if there is a base, and alien material all around is available by stripping parts of their ships to build a base, and then smaller ships. And typically you see small ships at first, no matter the difficulty. Small scout first, then medium sized to large. My thought, and then question, is this, could it be possible that the ships that were shot down, in the previous point, were small sized scout ships, that were possible part of a large fleet, and that fleet was what actually got onto earth, and they used the fleet to build smaller craft, weapons, etc. at first, while Mars was sending reinforcement waves, that we didn't see at all? My next point is a bit of a tough one. Could it be that the aliens, and then the humans, use one of two, or even both methods, of getting to Earth? Allow me to explain in depth. One method is that the aliens coming to Earth, and the humans going to Mars, are placed in a suspended animation type thing, and the ship, with a decent, and careful, AI, then guides the ship, with help from it's parent planet, to the planet it needs to get to. Of course, this would be a craft capable of getting to, and maintaining, almost light speed. The reason I say AI is that no human, or most aliens, can't handle the amount of g forces involved. There are other things to also add to this. And I could go one about various methods. I just covered the simplest one. Think of slingshot here, as well. Second method to getting to Mars, or Earth, is using faster than light. Not instantaneous, but it can be faster than the previous method. And may not need the preparation that the previous method needs. I could be wrong, or things go different, etc. on how they are getting to their respective planets, but I am throwing some ideas out.
  3. She's a bit more testy, and even gets upset more. now than before. This why I am looking at moving at some point, in the near future.
  4. *cleans the corners, couches, chairs, pillows, floors, etc.* I think we need to clear out somethings, so we have more room overall. *hugs Queen Tammy* I don't have words to assuage your loss. My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family. It is very hard to loose someone. And the flu, you need to take care of yourself better. On a side note, and to everyone here, please be careful of mosquitoes. I watched my mom suffer through West Nile virus. She's mostly fine now. But it takes it's toll on people. Even me.
  5. They frakking shortened the LoTR enough that there was a ton of missing stuff in there. I wonder if Terry Brooks is considering making his books into movies. Of course parts of that maybe cut because of one reason or another. But it should be a lot better than LotR.
  6. Out of the Lord of the Rings books, The Hobbit is the thinnest. How can you make a trilogy out of that? I could understand making a trilogies out of the tomes of the LotR books, but not the Hobbit. They seem to be trying to add too much to the story.
  7. I know that one, Thorondor, but since I am not an artist, I will wait and see if anyone else gets it.
  8. I did add you, I do believe. I'll pm my info so you can be sure.
  9. What NKF said, and moving them from neutral up towards friendly. That may give a little more frequency on the availability on hybrids.
  10. I won't restate what's been said, with the exception of not relying fully on that drive for everything. I would put the operating system you want on it, or even multiple operating systems. A few programs that you use frequently on it will be good, if you run a single operating system. Games are included in that, provided they are smaller games, and may need a boost in performance. Also, read everything you can on it, as well. The best advice is to be careful with the drive, and have fun. Pete, I am thinking of buying a new laptop sometime next year. Should I look for a laptop with a SSD already in it? I'm looking for an AMD based system with good memory, and graphics performance. And a good SSD drive in it. I'm only looking for recommendations, right now.
  11. Thank you all. I need a good birthday after last year's fiasco.
  12. Disruptor armor mixed with the Marsec chest piece makes for awesome flying soldiers, all around.
  13. Time is a factor in the game. The more tech/soldiers you can put onto research, the better. But not all. Cycle through the ones on the rover, training, etc.
  14. In an interview with Chris Nolan, he says that there would never be a Robin in his movies. I personally thought that was a good idea, and the movie actually made sense, to me. I also thought that Christian Bale could have done a better Batman voice. Or they could have just used something to disguise the voice. Before I move on, I was saying that the storyline made sense to me. And I like the fact that they left things open with the end, so someone else can step up and play Batman.
  15. A few years ago, do you know that all the heavy graphics work was actually done on Mac's, and not pc, for any game out there? And still, to this day, that all games are programmed on the pc? The point is, while there are pc's around, they will never be truly written off for gaming.
