Meanwhile me and Thor finds ourselves some eggs. Because we don't need them we blast them (actually he because he has AC-HE)

Still scouting the bottom floor Ludimyla finds another bunch of aliens. Through few well placed rounds she manages to kill the brainsuckers with HE

Few of the shots hit some creates revealing another sucker. But there was help nearby and this danger was killed.

On the next turn the green worm was killed. One of the little worms had a chance of reaction fire and grazed him just a bit.

So why this is not the end... right the two aliens who were stunned decided to get up.

Another mission done, second casualty and a wounded agent. It's getting tougher every week.

Well Thor it's up to be squad leader now.

 

 

After returning to base wounded go to the sick bay and we replace them with our reserves and of we go to that transport UFO.

Let's get that UFO. Team layout as always the same.

All 3 squads land on the same side. While my team and Azraels land closer to the UFO enterance we position ourselves close enough to it to have perfect view of anything coming out. Meanwhile SV moves his men to the other side.

 

Upon reaching other side we begin to enter UFO. First in goes Thorondor and spots few aliens. I know there is this blue charger there so I am playing conservatively with TU's. Thor fires 2-3 rounds of HE at him and reserves other for much higher threat.

On the other side SV orders his men to move in. There are two more aliens ubove us.

On aliens turn SV fires reaction shot blasting his ass.

And this I was expecting but wasn't expecting the outcome.

I thought that SV will have enough reaction to kill it, but it was much faster and it blasted straight in his FACE. Fortunately he is not easily killed and survives the blast with moderate damage and an arm wound.

The problem with AC-HE rounds is that even in armor soldiers don't risk reaction fire if the explosion might reach them. Don't know why since it wouldn't hurt them, though on Ufopaedia someone said that Megapol Armor is less resistant vs HE blast.

 

Moving on we spot this sucker on the ground floor and waste him.

If it wasn't enough during alien turns a Hyperworm spat at him further hurting him.

Ground floor secured. Thorondor rushes up and peppers this worm with HE rounds killing it with one of the offsprings, the others hid behind the corner.

Let's not get in chase with them and one grenade should finish them off. (That is Veki)

While moving in the position to kill the blue one we spot another worm up in the corner.

Having the advantage of flying suit we scout the highest position revealing two of the pink ones.

We tried to blast them with nades but out of 4 only 2 landed close enough but hadn't that power to kill them. Good thing we have smoke grenades and grenades don't cover only one floor.

Aliens start to panic as we close in the gap from both sides and killing them merciless.

Moving on we spot few other things we pepper them with HE rounds and Thor finishes off those worms.

But that is not all of them. I hate that but I didn't have to look far.

We return to base and rearm. Scientist have finished dissecting brainsucker.

We check the recruitment list and found this two. The secto human is completely useless. Everything is below average and even his psionics are poor. The second one is android. I don't particularly like androids since their main disadvantage is not to improve over time.

Our biologists have finished studying the egg and started right away to dissect it

Nothing more happens today wounded soldiers are getting healed. We need healthy staff.

We now know the insides of the egg and scientist are planning some biological weapon but need more tissues to check.

Today we find ok Hybrid to hire. Though his strength and Psi-Defence could be little higher I guess he will not be in situation to be mind controlled.

There are also 2 good looking ladies to hire. We need more teams if aliens decide to bring something they will shoot back.

Before we could shoot it down it drops aliens on the nearby police station.

And once again our crafts just barely return to base for heavy repairs.

We arrive to the Police station. Sergeant Thorondor dispatches squads.

We generally start close together on this side of the station.

But soon Thorndor spots aliens down in the basement.

He loads his HE clip and proceeds with emptying it.

With some help this Multiworm a brainsucker and Spitter are dead.

Of course I know that there is a pooper lurking about. I've heard it and with Veki we rushed to take it alive killing another spitter who stood nearby

Meanwhile SV with our PSI guys cover other corridor and 2 blue ones pop out one with purple beam weapon other with brainsucker luncher.

Next turn we kill the Multiworm and its offspring strangely Thorondor was slightly wounded.

Our psionics decided to test their skill in real action. And with 33% chance she manages to control this alien.

As you can see this guy has 8 TU left which is why Psionics in TU is not so good. In previous games TU's were restored and I wonder why this was never fixed - even through mods.

 

Second psyker failed at 30% control but had enough energy and tried to probe him. He was killed then by SV.

Also taking advantage we kill the controlled one.

Moving on we spot more aliens but in the state of mental brakedown. And we show no mercy.

A few brainsuckers pop out and one of them is killed through reaction fire. Other failed at proned agents.

Now off to the crashed UFO. Thorondor will have to spend one day in sick bay I think.

If I find android good android I will enlist him. Right now there are 2 on the list - one you have seen and the other is quite weaker the only thing he is better at is speed and accuracy, but with swords acc doesn't count I think and swords are either week 3 or week 4.

 

Moving on, we land near the UFO. Team preped and ready to go.

Troops decided to start bit further than with last UFO but at least they managed do split sides at least. Squad 1 and 2 south-est, squad 3 north-east.

Slowly positioning towards the entrances. As we enter the ufo this guy is eager to charge us. But Ludimyla delivered nice HE shot blowing him to bits.

Following more aliens show up. One is sacrificed to scout ahead.

He tries to mind control alien but fails at it, his last reserves of psi-energy is used to reduce the morale and it succeeds just for the practice since he is then blasted by plasma fire.

But she manages to take control over this alien.

And look - they can bleed now. Again I can't do a thing with him except to drop his gun, which they pick up now.

Veki fires few well placed shots on this one killing him.

Later this day scientist finally solved the mystery of alien energy source.

We check the recruitment list and find those 2 guys. The first one has pretty strong PSI capability as a human.

We now know more about the multiworm and we proceed with the corpse.

Few hours later alarm from Osiron controlled slums rings. So we move our troops. Thorondor seems to come back to full health so he only missed one mission.

On the first floor we find 2 Anthropods who are later blasted by HE.

Back at base our biologists have finished studying Multiworm corpse. And started on the Hyperworm.

On recruitment list we find a pretty reasonable looking android. Say hello to NKF. Since I don't have power sword yet nor any armor you'll be responsible for ... I don't know - just find yourself useful at base :P

Later that day scientist have finished the work on Hyperworm and started to look at it guts.

And as the day comes to an end, aliens decided they will pay as a visit airborne way.

We have managed to shot down the transporter before it reached it's destination. Our Interceptor again returned almost in scraps.

The Interceptor landed near the crashed UFO. Team prepared and deployed - this time on the west side.

As we close buy the entrance we hear heavy running. It must be this exploding runner. And what do you expect.

Azrael runs up and tries to kill him but every shot he made missed completely.... no to make him explode another soldier runs up and stuns him.

Next turn Azrael points his laser rifle to this creature head and pulls the trigger.

Slowly entering the UFO Anthropods begin to run to their deapths.

I completely forgot to check for the brainsuckers but the team managed well and no one was brainsucked. And this guy thinks he will be a hero.

Few of the brainsuckers fell down to the bottom and were stupid enough to make the jumps in the lift. The lift prevented them from jumping high enough to land on the heads of our men. Veki used this situation and killed them all.

Following further deep inside the UFO we find multiworms.

Every heavy machine gunner is gathered to blast them sky high. Thorondor kills one but didn't have time to kill all the little ones.

Our physicians have finally finished the Disruptor Gun. Good thing that they did it today as from next week the price will go a little bit higher and that is more money for us.

We slowly move through the rooms. The terrain is very open and each room is somehow dedicated for prayers (I think so just look at the map). It's 5 turns as we proceed slowly and we find nothing. Were are they ? What kind of trap they have prepared for us?

The map is not that big only 4 big rooms to check and the underground is also clear. Guess they are hiding in the room #4. And sure they are...

Let's welcome them first with psionic blasts.

And looks like I started with the right one. That is one big rocket luncher. It has power to blow any of our troops. Strange that his portrait is of android but clearly he is not android.

So we start to storm this last room and we put some bullets to them.

If you look at the insides. Their stats ain't that super. What is strange that their strength HP and psi abilities (except psi-energy) is more of a hybrid. Also don't be fooled though the picture shows unarmored person they have somekind of armor since they can withstand even plasma fire.

Of course when AI starts it's turn they think that this mind controlled agent is exceptionally dangerous and everyone shoots him.

We are foregoing the use of HE since we don't want the equipment to be vaporised. Even though it has more durability to explosions while on the ground the still can be destroyed.

SV has the pleasure to finish the last of the cultists. I was hoping for more fierce battle but I guess this is too early and strangely aliens didn't took control over this cult yet.

What have we captured.

 

1 Procimity mine, few grenades, Marsec machine gun, Heavy luncher - 2 pieces and few ammo it will come handy later and something that you can't find in normal means - psiclone. What is psiclone - according to ufopedia it is a new kind of drug and it is prohibited. What it does to people ? Well it says that they can imagine anything they want. What it does for us? It replenishes some portion of psi-energy. But for now we need money and 1 piece is worth 4.5k.

And finally the best bought equipment can be purchased. Lineage plasma is what we need but we are so short on funds...

I've sold every new piece of equipment, bio-transport modules, disruptor guns, brainsucker lunchers and got enough money for another Hawk Air Warrior and we are out of money for this week. But we surely need them as aliens also bring new toys.

New UFO type. It has medium disruptor beam and is much more durable. They send 2 of them with 3 escorts.

 

I had to do many reloads to have any success in air combat. First of the UFO's always headed for this building.

This is sensodrome and this is where TV is broadcast to your homes. We need to stop them or they will spread their propaganda against us.

 

Second UFO on my successful attempt deployed forces in this slums area. They are controlled by government so they are potentially our other base. In this scenario I managed to down 2 escort ships. See how 1 more Hawk increases our firepower? Though every ship is very damaged and I now feel the pain of not having additional repair garage.

So yeh - this week begins very active for us.

We arrive at the slums housings. It should be fairly easy task here. But before we start a little rectification. The green building isn't sensodrome as I suspected but Procreation Clinic.

 

Our troops locate here. This is quite bigger map than we encountered previously.

Moving forward we encounter some graves. So many Joes Bloggs... but if you look carefully there is a grave of Julian Gollop.

Moving on we spot some aliens. Not taking any chances we rush in and kill the poopers.

On the other side we find more danger.

Our psyker flies in and mind controls one of them and kills the second

Inside the building we find another type of alien.

Unfortunately he gets wounded in the head. But it doesn't stop him from killing two aliens.

We've learned that yellow type aliens can fly. Fortunately this one was stupid enough to fly here.

Fuelled by rage he kills 3 yellow aliens with his plasma gun.

Inside the building we find one more Anthropod and kill him.

On the outside however SV constantly prods this yellow one with Stun Grapple.

Being cautious we find another brainsucker and a multiworm.

Multiworm tries to escape but we catch him kill him and his other buddy too.

This was very tense battle. So many aliens they even throw some new explosives at us. 3 of our men got wounded in this mission. Expecting casualties to pop in any mission now.

We return to base, re-arm and set course to that Procreation building.
