silencer_pl
Last week here in Poland was a long one. 1st May our International Worker Day and 3rd May our Constitution Day So most of us took few days off and went on drinking and visiting other places you normally don't have time for. My trip was to Szymbark, a place known for the longest board in the world and upside-down house. And I've decided to share a few pictures I've made using my Galaxy S2 phone. The ticket to enter this place costs 15PLN and that is equivalent to 3.5-4EUR. Upon entering you are welcomed by this fountain. Our first steps in this trip were of course to the location of the longest board. This of course isn't said board but the table where the board is placed. Just look how long it must be. Now this is the board - more than 36 meters long This is Kashubian anthem. First one who will learn it gets a free beer. This is the picture of pictures how the tree was taken from the wood. Those show how the board was cut. Many famous persons were invited during that day and in some you can find our former president Lech Wałęsa. This is the trunk of the tree that the board was made of. Kashubian patterns on the board
silencer_pl
The exit from the house leads to open roof restaurant where on the middle is a fireplace for your sausages. (Now now - clear your mind FA). Here is the exhibition of random tools used over time The tour next goes to Gulag. Although pomerania was captured by the Germans during WW2. But after the war when we were sold to Stalin by our allied friends there were many repressions against former AK soldiers and anti communism resistance. Here are pictures of train that soviets used to deliver prisoners.

silencer_pl
Next stop is a trapper house from Canada (literally). Here are the stones of some of some people that moved to Canada back then. The sign says: "Kashub ain't he who talks much that he is, but he who respects the tradition and speech of elders" After that we went through WW2 bunker Secre Military Organisation Pomeranian Griffin Here we also had an experience of how was it inside of such bunker during air raids in WW2. Here are the pictures of people that were involved in that organisation. Lieutenant Joseph Dambek - creator and commander After exiting the bunker the upside down house was seen. Just look at the queue But our tour led us to a wooden church The above sign reads: "God, Honour, Homeland".And below: "I always thought in Polish, prayed in Polish and loved in Polish"
silencer_pl
Admittedly not our finest hour If Roosevelt helped us during Warsaw uprising in '44 and listened to Churchill pleads things might look different But let's not dwell on it. Next in our trip was the largest piano in the world. (The black one) That was the last place of guided tour. The rest of time I've spent time eating drinking and relaxing. Here is 1L of local beer that you will not get anywhere else. And from my PoV another look on the upside down house. The queue was so long and was so hot that I didn't even bother to go inside A little close-up And that is it.

silencer_pl
Today I was at PGE Arena - that is stadium where some of the matches in EURO 2012 were played. I must say that the pitch looks bigger on TV.
