Where in the world is Mikhail Sinitsyn?

I'm at a mission in the Urals, at a Russian engineering base, because I've found a letter giving orders to someone to assassinate a turncoat German engineer named Mikhail Sinitsyn who is supposedly working for the Russians now.

It was attacked by German forces after I arrived, but after i'd gunned them all down I realized I still couldn't find Sinitsyn, and I'm not allowed to leave until I do so.

Either he's hidden absurdly well, or he's behind the sealed and armored doors on floor 2, which I absolutely cannot pick open.

I've put a few hundred rounds into the main door to floor 2 (most likely killing the person standing on the other side, if the blood is any indicator (I assume it's an enemy as I can see the scientists in floor 2, even though I have no line-of-sight to them)) to no avail, the thing won't budge.

Can someone give me a clue as to where this guy is supposed to be or what I'm supposed to do?

He's on the top floor. Not sure how you get in, however.

Only two places I can't get into on the top floor seem to be the far corner area with a nameless Scientist(can I assume that's not him?) and a small room(almost like an airlock, though ironically I CAN get to the room it's sealed from by shooting through the glass window in a separate observation room) with two sealed doors keeping it shut.

Do you know which of the places could be holding him? Though it might not matter since my engineer is absolutely incapable of unlocking any of the doors here...

---

Do latter quests generally require your engineer to have good lockpicks and a high engineering skill? My engineer doesn't end up engineering very often...

Does the screenshots in this live play help? It's listed as Mission 15: Capture Russian engineer.

I don't have any saves nearby, or I'd look it up for you.

The Easier Items mod is recommended, to ease the well-known engineering/medical skill troubles.

Hmm, thanks for linking that. I'd checked that LP before but I got thrown off and didn't see 15 until now, but for whatever reason the guy isn't where he appears in the LP. : /

I'm gonna check out that mod, the requirements on engineering/medical stuff is silly.

He should be on the second floor, IIRC. Should be a sealed metal door at the staircase area, but the room he's in (for me in the Allied campaign, anyway) is the biggest room on that floor, with a chest in it. Got a Thor's Hammer Officer in there, I think.

As for getting through those doors, explosives are your best bet. I've blown the doors up with direct hits from rocket launchers, but blowing holes in the roof or floor should work too.
