Now we're gonna torture that alien leader some more and figure out more about what's going on. We're going to be sending the Euro crew in to clean out that medium UFO. We've got the transport loaded up with extra explosives and our crew is tweaked We launch our craft to go back to the crash sight and kick some ass! Jman4117 Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Share Posted March 29, 2012 Ok, EuroCom is out of rockets. SV, you're taking a stun gun on this mission. Mero, here's your sniper rifle and backup pistol. Our first two troopers deploy. Silencer spots a floater moving east. He raises his AC fires dropping two aliens in the blast! Two more men are on the ground and we have the immediate area secure. Siegfried moves toward the west side of the craft. Meanwhile, one of the aliens Silencer fired on gets up and makes a break for it! SV takes aim and knocks the alien out again! Siegfried is joined by Trogdor and they slowly creep around the side of the craft. On the other side, Strike hides in one of the nooks next to the blown out hull. Silencer and SV move around further to the east. Siegfried sneaks around further. He spots another alien lurking in the shadows. The alien doesn't see him and he manages to hide in another nook on the side of the ship. On the other side, Strike spots two floaters in the center of the craft. He drops one, the heads back into cover. He calls back to Silencer and SV to deal with the other one. Seconds later, a single AC-HE round sails through the air and hits the alien in the shoulder, dropping it. Strike here's that front door open. Seems Siegfried's alien is retreating back into the craft. Strike steps from behind a bulkhead and opens fire! The alien drops to the ground dead. Looks like we've gotten this LZ cleared.... Time to move on the UFO! Mero is suddenly struck in the back with a plasma shot! He collapses to the ground badly wounded. Strike rushes out of the craft...There should NOT have been an alien there. It must have floated over the top of the craft and flanked us. He finds the alien, and opens up on him taking revenge for Mero! Trogdor has the medikit on him, but he's out on the outside. He takes it in his hand and throws it near Mero. Hopefully, someone can get back to him in time to save him! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Pete Posted March 29, 2012 Report Share Posted March 29, 2012 You know, I suspect there might be some specific pathfinding code in the game with Harvester ships as I've often found a Floater will float out of the open upstairs "window". I actually had a 4 man squad once and they all went into the ship after clearing the LZ and cleared out the UFO and assumed it must be done since one man was guarding the door, but sure enough a Floater had escaped out of the window Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Siefried moves to cover the door while SV does his work on Mero. He should be able to cover with his high reactions... Suddenly, the door opens! A floater comes in, turns to the right and blasts Siegfried! He then turns and shoots SV in the chest while he's kneeling over Mero! Moments later, Mero regains consciousness barely alive and near panic. He walks over to SV's corpse, picks up the stun gun and draws down on that alien that killed his two comrades! WHOOOSH! The alien falls to the deck unconscious. Another one! Damn! He fired and nearly hit Strike! Strike will not tolerate this behavior, and goes and takes him out! Hopefully, the outside is now cleared....Our squad moves on the lift to the next level. Trogdor rounds the corner and drops an alien that was guarding it. Mero picks up some ammo to go with the gun scavenged off of SV. He notices that there is a hole in the floor above him...and there's an alien up there! He fires and drops two aliens that were up there! Trogdor makes it to the top of the UFO and hides behind cover. Mero hears yet another floater sneaking up behind him....He pulls out his laser pistol and wastes him! Meanwhile at the top of the UFO, another alien comes around from the bridge. He takes a shot at our squad, but they are protected by the bulkheads. Trogdor rounds the corner and dispatches him! Mission Accomplished! We bagged 12 aliens on this op. Sadly, our Commander was killed in the fighting. Hopefully we can soon get better equipment to keep our guys alive longer against this brutal alien tech. It is now time to hire on some more troops! This man...is lucky to be alive. Somehow he managed to take out 4 aliens while critically wounded. This is a guy to be on the look out for for promotions! Our new troops arrive. SV gets the best of the bunch...which isn't great, but them's the breaks. Our American radar picks up a small UFO moving over the Pacific. Contact is lost, then resumed near Australia. Our New Guinea base scrambles its interceptor and downs the UFO into the ocean. Our eggheads got Silencer to work on that alien leader. After about 10min, he assertained that the alien invasion is based from somewhere on Mars. Since this is classified and compartmentalised, we need to get a higher ranking alien to extract that information from. As luck would have it, there's that alien base in Canada that we can go and kidnap a high ranking alien commander. Now that we have that out of the way, we research those floaters we've been running into lately. Another medium UFO! We scramble an interceptor out to follow it. It disappeared somewhere over northeast China. When our plane arrives in the area and picks up the UFO, it's landed near the Russian border. And yet another medium UFO...It's landed in Borneo. We should be able to get at least one of these taken care of, even though they're both out of range for our best assault squad.. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
