Modding Drones?

Im not sure how to modify the drones for ufo aftershock I understand how to modify weapons and other characters, but perhaps they are named differently in the gamedata.vfs once extracted?

 

Id like to perhaps add one slot to the scout drone for a shield, I enjoy how they are fast and able to distract wargots so my snipers can pick them off but id like it if i could put a shield onto them

 

and.. perhaps even equip the defender and fighter with the hover chassis... id enjoy having them a bit faster
