Graphics glitch (flickering!)

Hi,

 

I'm new here but I just recently started playing X Com Interceptor again after many many years. I'm currently running VMWare 3.1.3 with newest windows XP. I run this on a MacBook Air with 10.7 Lion.

 

The OS works fine, the game works fine except for a graphics glitch which is bugging me.

As you can see, the mouse looks ridiculous and there are some parts that flicker. In every other way the game runs very smoothly and fine.

 

What i've tried:

-Running in compatibility mode

-Changing screen colors

-Enable and disable 3d in the game settings

 

Any other ideas ? Please help me. I really want to play this awesome game.

 

ps. I have the original CD which I'm using.
