Special purpose Vehicle

Hello guys...Today I found this project and I can't tell you how happy I am

I am more than willing to contribute in any way regarding this project, whether with ideas, graphics or whatever.

So here is my first try to contribute...

A vehicle with a tear-gas launcher, which would be available early in-game, it would be based on Yugoslavian BOV-M which is commonly used as anti-riot vehicle. It would perform the role of heavy weapon platforms such as in Enemy Unknown or SWS in TFTD. If you like the idea, tell me so I can start modeling !

Here is the reference link...Minus the mountable fence mind you :(

I'm interested in the concept that it holds. Essentially, what you are asking is for something of a hybrid that wasn't truly touched upon in X-com 1 and X-com 2.

In both games, there are tank units that the player can put in the squad. They come in various types like Heavy Cannon, Rocket, Plasma types, Laser types, even tanks that fly later on in the game and so forth.

What this concept you are asking is, is essentially a tank that does not have a lethal weapon, but rather a stun grenade, very much like the Stun Launcher weapon from X-com 1.

I like the concept, but it'd probably be more of an APC at that size, not something that could be hauled in on a Skyranger/Avenger type craft. Maybe something roughly jeep sized such as this:

As far as weapons, most any light/medium size weapon should work, perhaps have modules that can be dropped into the vehicle chassis. Heavier guns like tank cannons and larger caliber gauss guns could probably work on an APC sized unit.

Mind you, thinking outside of the box for perhaps a moment here and maybe taking too much inspiration from other sources. Perhaps we could think about expanding into Particular TYPES of SPV's.

Perhaps one kind of SPV would be based on the design of the APC from the Aliens film, that is to be a personal troop carrier that is capable of fitting into the underside of a flying craft.

Perhaps we could literally have it so that the APC has a HUGE amount of armor, like the tanks, so they can withstand a few hits, but with no weapons though, and perhaps have a feature of the flying craft hovering high above for missile strikes on specific targets ;)

Other kinds of SPV's would be things like Tanks, or converted Riot Vehicles, and perhaps have a feature, much like in Apocalypse, where we could modulate the weapons and armour systems on a vehicle.

I've played with a layout for an early scout car. Still needs the real details such as the lights, mirrors, suspension, weapons and the like, and probably a 3rd door on the back.

Some inspiration could be taken from bomb disposal tracked drone vehicles, controlled remotely. Something like a 30/40mm grenade launcher can fit on an awfully small chassis. Ammunition considerations are the primary factors, as well as armor thickness and power plant, depending on the power plant you can fit a lot of nasty hardware on something the size of a dustbin, and especially chemical weapons can be very compact yet give a lot of bang for buck *thinks back to the time he got sent diving out of the garage after inadvertently causing a mere shot glass sized beaker full of chloroacetone to erupt in an exothermic mini vesuvius. Or acrolein poured down the sink as a lil tyke, flushed down with HOT rather than cold water. Stupidly vaporising it and sending it right back up the drain in a virulent gutter-stinking and horrendous lachrymatory sewer-fart, as if the devil himself just sharted in a reverse trajectory. Damn well cleared the area.

A tear gas nonlethal weapon could be useful for driving civilians out of areas that are about to end up as ground zero for something more devastating, or to flush them away from crossfire, or flush the bugs INTO the field of fire. Assuming organic units that breathe or have open sensory systems of some sort.

If anyone wants input on NBC warfare and countermeasures, I'm your guy.
