I don't think I need to say anything, really.  Do I need to say anything?

No.  No, I don't.

Nah, just laugh at the silliness that is the press. ;) The only problem I see for us is that Bilic will likely resign, if for no other reason than media pressure. We do have another capable coach, but I don't think his time has come yet. It's not that he couldn't do it, it's just that everyone considers him too inexperienced.

But what I find interesting is the sheer number of otherwise good teams that aren't going further. Just off the top of my head:

Portugal, Scotland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Romania, Poland, Turkey...

The funny thing is, Bosnia and Herzegovina with our old coach (the one that got us to 3rd place in France 98) is in 2nd place and it's possible they'll pass. Yet when I had said back when they fired him that we wouldn't have another coach that good in a loooooong time people laughed at me. Well the joke's on you!... Too bad nobody cares anymore. :oh:

Having nothing better to do yesterday, I turned the TV on and England was playing against USA so I decided to watch. Missed most of the first half time but saw the goal. I'm still not sure if that was poor handling on Green's side or just the fact it was slippery. In any case it was an OK match, but England looked kind of disappointing. Then again I haven't really paid attention to the WC since we were kicked out so I don't know what the status of England's team is (missing players etc.). On the other hand, everyone seems to underestimate USA but they have proven to be a good team. Not brilliant, but they're consistently good.

That was pretty boring until that red card. And another goal through the goalie's arms. XD Did anyone catch that Algerian fan on top of the lights? Our commentator says that there was apparently a banner saying "Greetings from Zagreb". Thought that was pretty funny.

Congrats, SV!

All I'm going to say is:  My country currently resembles a Nazi rally, but with England flags.

That goal your keeper missed, that sucked, I wanted you guys to win that match, but at least they didn't get past the draw

Uruguay managed a draw against France last week, our team played horribly, bar Diego Forlan who is arguably the only player we have on the field :(

@Gimli: I have to admit our match was utter crap, luckily Zidane's countrymen were even crappier and we won. If we play like this against US, we are DOOOMED.

Anyway, our players have a huge psy-burden on them and I know they can play better, so I remain hopeful.

I can't believe I managed to sit through the England - Algeria game in a state of sobriety.  England managed to put in an even weaker performance than they did against the USA, and in the last minutes of the game the booing of the England fans in the stadium was acutually louder than the buzzing of the vuvuzela horns.

Maybe England are trying to outdo France in terms of being the biggest under performers of the tournament?

Apart from Switzerland - Spain and Serbia - Germany, this has been the most boring WC ever. I'm pretty disappointed with the results. So much for the balls being harder for the keepers to catch.
On the bright side I checked our group for Euro 2012 Qualifiers and it looks like we have a good chance for the 1st spot again.

Hello stranger, come here often?

I think our team's performance has undermined the current wave of jingoism sweeping the country.  It's quite nice.

It must seem that way, sometimes.  Draw against France is a good result though, I don't think England could do that at the moment.

We did effectively wiped the floor with South Africa   and that was with the referee clearly against us (two of our players were injured, one was punched in the face and then kicked a couple more times later, he played the rest of the match with half a package of cotton in his mouth he was bleeding so much), damn cheaters, plus they played trying to injure our players. Sorry boys, step aside and we'll show you how it's done.

A good news is Mexico beat France  :(

I don't know why our guys got so passive in 2. half... A tie with US and we had 2:0 at the end of 1. half... AND we got lucky with the last US goal. I wonder what will come out of this.

England get serious.
