Like it says on the tin, a thread about game bargains.

66% off the Orange Box!

It's 5.66 here in the UK, that's less than 1 a game.  Silly not to!

Been waiting for L4D to come down in price - I play TF2 quite a bit and half my friends on that game play L4D and I was feeling a bit left out. I'll almost certainly be purchasing this today.

Damn - if I hadn't bnought Portal a few weeks ago that would've been a good purchase this weekend (though wish I'd seen the deal last weekend). Now the only two things in there I don't have add up to about a quid less than the current price.

FA - even if you don't have a PC that can run half of that stuff, buy it for the day you do and you won't be disappointed. It's still a steal at the current price there!

Just buy it already. The game won't expire, but the offer will.

This "on sale" offers are great for games in general, IMO... But prices should be this low from the get go. Kill the piracy by offering low-cost original.

Plants vs Zombies (apparently rather good) is selling for 14.95 on Popcap Games, but Steam has it for 6.99, plus you get Heavy Weapons Deluxe free with it.

Bought Left 4 Dead yesterday with my brother and played all 4 campaigns through on Normal setting in 8 hours.

Don't get me wrong, they were amazingly fun and I love that every time Francis (as played by my bro) shot everyone but the zombies the characters all whine at him, and we'll definitely be playing on Expert next time around.

The graphics are amazing - I like the nice touches like Film Grain, though I turned that off preferring to see what I'm looking at over long distances. I also like the fact that the loading screens are movie posters with "{Your Name} as Francis" etc and it plays like every good Zombie movie you've ever seen.

Animtation is impressive, Zombies move far too fast (in a good way) and their motion is far too realistic (again, in a good way) that I'll probably have nightmares for weeks... but it was worth it :)

Stacks of replayability in ths game - buy now if you can run it.

Favourite gun was the assault rifle - exploding heads never gets old.

Agreed that it's a fun game Pete! (though I do wish I could play it single-player without the other guys too)

More bargains!

Played much with other human players? I've got quite a few Steam friends and after playing the campaing with my bro initially it can be fun to see what others do.

For example my bro will patiently clear every room he passes whereas the people we played with the other day were happy to just wade in and as long as one watched the front and one watched the back things tended to work out fine.

Expert mode is a nightmare and is enough to give you nightmares to boot!

No, only by myself with bots (the ones Valve makes are better than average, but that says more about average than them). I know this is primarily a coop game, but I tend to prefer single player. That being said, maybe I'll join the madness with yourself and your brother one day. What's your nick at Steam?

Both Freedom Force games bundled, 4.49 on Steam.

I've just indulged.

Because, quite obviously, I don't spend enough time playing strategy games.

Sword of the Stars Ultimate on GamersGate at HALF PRICE!

$14.95 or 12.95 depending on where you're from.

Goes back up to full price tomorrow so worth grabbing.

I'm trying to weigh up the pros and cons personally, as if I bought it now the new version of the site would never launch, ever, EVER. Think I'll give it a miss for now :)

And yes, I do think games like this going for peanuts is newsworthy hence the news post.
