A mild sprinkling of rain here has 2009 looking like its fresh self.

I wish you all an equally welcoming year.

Watching all those millions blow up in the sky gives me mixed feelings. Looks pretty, but...

Anyway, flu found me this new year, so it can only get better ;). Happy new year everyone!

We had a rather muted celebration in my area - partly on account of the heavy torrent of rain that came down just a minute after the fireworks started to go off. These were isolated fireworks - not the flamboyant displays that I imagine were held in the major city centres. Much quieter parties all around too.

On the bright side New Years day the weather was absolutely marvelous. A typical hot summer's day in my part of the world.

New Year when it is summer seems so wrong to me when I've been accustomed to the cold and the snow in the northern hemisphere for all my life. I guess it's no different to you guys south of the equator. :D

Anyhow, have a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous New Year everyone! Go 2010! ;)
