Classic: "Mystique presents Swedish Erotica: Custer's Revenge".

No part of that intro on the cover sounds like it belongs alongside any other part of it :D

Gamesradar just recently made their picks for the worst box art of 2009. Pet Vet didn't make it to the list but here's something else:
Truly horrifying proving my point yet again that the Wii is the king of terrible cover art. Gross. (Coincidence that Wii is pronounced like "wee"). ;)

I sometimes wonder if Nintendo hires kids out of grade school to create cover art for their games. The obvious lack of skill in using Photoshop throws up all sorts of red flags. :D

I don't think any of those are actual Nintendo games, they're just titles some el cheapo third party decided to shovel onto the Wii for less than 100 total costs.

Possible I guess. So these games are just being whacked out assembly line style and are hoping to exploit the popularity of the Wii?

PS2 also has it's share of crappy shovelware games. Just look at the videos in this thread at SomethingAwful forums.

Edit: Am I the only one who thinks the artwork in Custer's Revenge cover looks like Robert Crumb's work?

Yup, there's lots of stuff being ported to it, because it's the biggest current console user base (that isn't a handheld).  It means some games get a well-deserved second chance to be seen (Broken Sword, for instance), and some horrors see the light of day.

At least five or six people must have worked on that beauty.  It's a shame they didn't talk to each other at all throughout the whole process, which must have taken them a good hour.

Here's a recent release spotted on GamersGate no less!

DD_FF3AP.jpg

Aside from a VERY dodgy title, what the hell is Johnny Five from Short Circuit doing waving his arms in what can only be described as an "I'll get you yet you pesky kids" sort of way.

And the lead lady is called Scarlett. She's just asking for trouble.

Yeah, it's sort of the love-child of Johnny Five and WALL-E. Which is very wrong on many levels.
