Ok, I just got attacked by the wargots.. first mission went in, was a 2 layered mission had to get inside a hillside green thing with as many troops as possible, second part had to kill certain amount to win.. Question: How do I defeat them? On the topside, there was 2 warriors, power armour and 2 cultists. I managed to get them pretty easily.. On the bottom there was like 10 wargots, and 10 cultists of varying types. They started shredding me badly, I turned on the untouch code, and then they flamed me with soe kind of flaming grenade and I fried to death.. So what do I need to kill them easier? I have 4 humans, all medium armor, AK47s, 2 cyborgs basic implants AK47's, 1 psychi basic psi armor, with sniper rifle..

Am i basicaly SOL? or.. am I just mising something?

Most weapons should work - as long as you can sling enough firepower their way and that you've trained up one or two serious gun-nuts who've put all their training and experience to better their weapon's primary stat.

Standard rifles and sniper rifles generally work well. However you might want to upgrade your AK47's to something better though. Keep researching the rifles to improve them, as the best rifle in the game is a great all-rounder weapon that anyone can use effectively with minimal effort. For highly specialised weapons that can really tear wargots to shreds, android rangers with two sub-machineguns or a fully fledged machinegunner are excellent choices.

If you've got any, attach whatever mods you've got onto your weapons to get the best out of them. A few encounters with the cult often produces a number of the more useful basic mods, so you should have picked up a few by the time you meet the Wargots for the first time.

The explosives you're encountering are just a type of launched projectile that the wargots have. Very damaging at first, but you can manage them by increasing your armour (for androids, get the torso upgrade and limbs matching the android's combat profession of choice) and get out of the way if you spot the projectile being fired. There's not too much you can do about the psionics though, except to keep them well away from the front-line action

Just persevere. The wargot's aren't invincible.

Tip: If you're on a two-parter, and are up against heavy opposition, you can try skipping the first part and heading straight for the target location and going to the next area. Though you do lose the equipment you may have captured in the first part, the mission will be shorter and your soldiers should be in better condition at the start of the second part. Skipping the first part of a two-parter bunker-type mission gets much easier later on once you stop using the Laputa's drop-pod. You literally start on the exit area.

hmm...You should try using the HK33, or even M16 if you have them. Attach those accelerators, cos these guns have a longer range than AK, and yeah, longer range=better...!! And use those chokepoints! AI isn't that great in this game, so why not just lure those peeps into a small area with a single small entrance, then pepper the first one in with all guns blazing! that works quite well for me

But when i first met those guys, most of my crew has the XM8 rifle(the best projectile rifle) with Stabilizers and Accelerators on, as well as the monster sniper rifle, Barrett...so ripped through the whole Wargot gang in no sweat!

Of course, that all changed when i installed the Weapons Rebalance mod, hehe

I can't build any addons. I researched it, but can only seem to build an the undergrenade launcher thing.. as for the guns. Cant build M16's, never even saw them or got research for them.. and not sure if I can build XM8's or not.. but of all the guns I do got. The AK47 is the best for damage/range ratio.. Save for my 1 heavy machine gun.. so, maybe.. i gotta figure out it.. or heck, even start over.. wouldn't hurt that much. :)

This game has tons of research facilities and factories to go through so it might be a while before you can start manufacturing add-ons of your own. But by the time you do, your weapons are going to fly! Well, a lot better than they used to. For now though, you can make do with the gyros and recoil supressors that you can nick off the cultists.

Yeah~ FInish the two 1st Wargot missions where they attack the Laputa and another.

It's luckky that a group of 4 is intercepted by my two MG60E technicians. They pump the corridor full of AP ammo and get only a few scratches back. The 2-snipers group move to the central area fast enough to get a peek at the moving second group and finish off 2 soldiers, though one missile fired back cost few minor injuries. The last lone scout get picked off with ease.

It's normal difficulty, and I already have many goodies either by demanding escort fees or made them myself. Wargot plasma weapons in the loot allow energy research to go forward..

The 2nd mission is defending a factory. Though I have enough speed to climb to the top to try picking them off with snipers, it can be pretty chancy considering some of them toting missile/grenade launchers. I used my alternative tactic which is holding up in the middle of the factory, covering the only entrance big enough to allow them in. Wargot is just big enough that the single doors allow the rest access deny them entry. With only one entry point cover by machineguns, my snipers get enough space to snipe any go passed the doors. The inside is big enough that if they stop at the doors to shoot in their accuracies are shitty, or just plain impossible.

Conclusion? Wargot is too tough to go after them with rifle and smg. For injury-free battle, it's best to use sniper rifles and machineguns, choose battleground VERY carefully, and engage at extreme range. They are tough enough that 2 can aborb our full attention for the rest to get into firing distance.

Aside: I use the walnut countdown time to go after every bases on earth other than a single province (base and outlying) in North America. Hire a big roster of troops to train for many combinations. Research 3/4 of everything possible before the bottleneck which is plasma tech. Produce everything at least one item. Every escort/rescue mission I demand fee from escortee in term of their baggage. THe biggest bottleneck is Laputa research speed.
