Something like 100GB a month. I just whacked it up to the same as SC and will monitor it.

If it uses more than the 45-or-so GB that SC does I'll start to worry, but not too much as we've got something like 2 terabytes to play with.

I can't open www.ufopaedia.org. Anyone know what's going on?

Most odd - if you do it without the www. it works fine for me but not with.

I have fired off a ticket to see what th sisue might be - looks like some bizarre DNS issue just on that domain as no other sites on this server have been affected.

For me it doesn't work either way. Really odd.

Tech support have looked into it and can't see anything wrong. It works for them when they tested it through some proxy sites.

They did say there was one thing they could tweak to see if it makes a difference so they've done that and asked if we can check it again tomorrow, but ts sounding like a very odd DNS blip tied specifically to that domain - more likely at the domain registrar end than the web hosts.

Guess we'll have to see what happens as it'll take a while for changes to filter through the global DNS network.

For what it's worth, I haven't had any trouble accessing or navigating to any of the pages in the X-COM wiki today (or even in the last week for that matter). :P

Both are working for me now. Most peculiar!

The UFOs have come for Ufopaedia ;)  The DNS is live and pointing at Cloudflare, but the backend server is not where Cloudflare thinks it should be.

Do any wiki admins (in particular Gazchap or NKF) have insider knowledge they're willing to share?

Not a clue I'm afraid. Haven't seen any activity in the PM chat, so the wiki going down over the weekend was a surprise to me.

The optimist in me is thinking: At last,  the wheels are finally turning! Hoping that the site's being taken down to sort out the signup and the corresponding e-mail issues that are tied in with the signup process.

The pessimist in me is thinking: Oh no, everything's falling apart!

Certainly hoping it isn't the latter - many of us have spent a good part of a decade or more on the wiki. Or at least it feels that way. ;)

Acknowledged.  I was testing some savefile-based AI augmentations within UFO Extender when the site started going very sluggish about a week back; when it didn't come back quickly my untrained gut reaction was "hardware failure or critical misconfiguration of CloudFlare".  (I just supervised a server migration last month.  The unmanaged dedicated server I lease for the domains I host,  was starting to have hard drive issues that sabotaged saving cookie-indexed data to the hard drive.)

The old server did wink out exactly as fast as this (midnight GMT July 16th).

Some have already noticed that the site has been down for the past days. This is due to Jo5hua's current updates that should be completed in the next days
So, just hang in there a little bit and the wiki will be back.

Oh, and new user registration will finally be allowed again Posted Image
