To see some of the game mechanics extended and the rpg aspect enhanced, I felt the storytelling of the campaign let down S2 but i am sure that a fan made mod could create their own world and story with ease.
I've only been at this for maybe a week, but the main reason I picked it up was for the RPG/gameplay aspects. I wasn't necessarily looking for a great storyline, but it hasn't exactly let me down yet. I think they did pretty darn well for the clue system they devised, and having seen nothing like it before I think it's innovative enough that if the story were lacking it wouldn't matter.
That said, you have a point; someone could
take that ball and run with it, and spend some real time and effort on an exceptional storyline with the clue system's framework.
Also, that "landmates" discussion makes me wonder... is a mech-armor mod - and I'm talking about those GIANT humanoid mechs, the Robotech-type ones - even a remote
