Name:
Master Sergeant (now presumably a rookie again, heh) Jacob Mosovich

Callsign: Jake the Snake

Background:

Did one tour with regular US army, then went SpecOps, making several tours in 'nam, including one eventful mission swimming his ass deep upriver to rescue a downed aviator. Supposedly died in the early eighties in an automotive accident. In which the body was too badly burnt for a definite ID, of course.

Eventually ended up being recruited into governmental black-ops to do various dangerous, illegal, or morally dubious (yep) tasks in locales around the world. Anything from assassination, retrieval of sensitive items/info/people, pathfinding ops, and so forth....

He considered himself a seasoned veteran, a natural born warrior, and thought he'd seen everything. But when an orbiting RORSAT picked up the image of a passing flight of UFOs (and was promptly shot down), his unit was dispatched to make retrieval. When the rest of his squad was wiped out by sectoids, and had a contact of his check out the retrieved sattellite data, his career was effectively over due to both his grievous injuries and the MiBs interest in covering up the truth. The only reson they didn't quitely kill him in his hospital bed was probably because he might be useful again someday.

When some aging ex-CIA cowboy turned up to make him an offer, he knew that day had come. He spent some time as a field intelligence man for X-INV, when they needed dirty work done, before being bounced onto an active XCOM team on his request.

Personal Informaton:
Diminutive but well built, he is 5"7 of lean muscle. Depending on which records you look at, he's aged in his mid-to-late forties. Bald, with stern, angular features, and plasma burns down the left side of his face/upper body, along with various other scars from shrapnel and such. A notable scar part way across his throat.

He's essentially a good guy to have on your side, a consummate professional....and though he has some good stories and plenty of wisdom for the kids, he isn't too sociable. Pretty cold, distant even. Partly because he's seen a lot of teammates meet a grisly end, and frankly doesn't expect much different when the plasma starts to fly. Partly because of his black-ops past.....he's done a few things that aren't very nice. Don't expect him to be squeamish about having to torture someone. He's a bit grim, this one.
He's both physically and mentally scarred, and is singularly focused on settling his hash with ET.

As fitting with his background, he's a good outdoorsman, equally skilled with most weaponry (though while open to new developments, he's a bit of a traditionalist) though is pretty crap with anything psi-related. Having said that, he'd rather eat a bullet than let himself be used against his unit. He'd probably be a good pointman, or something.

Physical:
Strength: good for melee, but limited carrying capacity
Agility: Excellent
Speed: Average
Stamina: good, though let down by his injuries.
Intelligence: generally good, and well spoken, though don't expect much small talk.
Bravery: unflinching in combat, but he has issues off the pitch. You could say he's approaching "burnt-out".
Psi: Pretty poor. He isn't likely to frag any team-mates, but you'd have a hard time finding out since he hasn't been tested yet, and is a bit phobic about anything Psi.
Controller: um, me I guess, though feel free to run with him. All this background is here for a reason.

X-com classified Grey. The unauthorized viewing of these files is considered an act of high treason punishable by execution WITHOUT any judicial hearings.
X-com recruitment logs.
Name: Luis Ernesto Giraldo
Birth place: Cali, Colombia November 29 1971
Age: 28 (as of January 1st 19999)
Rank: Captain
Unit: 15th counterinsurgency battalion, 2nd Mobile Brigade.
The 15th counterinsurgency battalion is part of the famed Colombian Rapid Deployment Force (FUDRA for its name in Spanish Fuerzas de Despliegue Rapido), their sole purpose is to conduct helicopter born offensive operation against narcoguerillas FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucioanrias de Colombia) and ELN (Ejercito de Liberacion Nacional), narcoparamilatry groups like AUC (Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia) and the Armed Groups of the Colombian Drug Cartels in all weather day or night anywhere in Colombia.

Service Record: 78 successful engagements against FARC and ELN rebels and 103 successful black ops missions.  Has received 5 medals for bravery and has commendation letters from all his COs

Training: Officer school in Bogota from ages 18-21, Lancer training (equivalent to army Ranger training), Jump school, counter insurgency training in Fort Bragg, 3 month spec ops training with the Deltas in Fort Brag, Graduated first in his class in the school of the Americas in Panama. Has done specialist courses in guerilla warfare, special warfare tactics, counterinsurgency, advanced tactical command, infantry, diving school and sniping school.

Personal Info: Luis is a very smart man his IQ is 123 he scored almost perfect in his Icfes (Colombian SAT) he thought seriously about joining medical school but the kidnapping torture and murder of his older brother Andres by Farc rebels because they confused him for a know paramilitary commander, led him to join the army. He is a quiet, modest soft-spoken man of 174 cm (5.71 ft) and weighs 75 kilos (150 pounds). He has hazel eyes and dark hair, he is neither ugly nor handsome, one could say he is the kind of person one would hardly notice in a crowd he is the example of the normal Joe (for a Latin American of course).
Appearances aside he is a textbook grade A officer, he inspires respect loyalty and admiration from his men, he is described as an aggressive, but with enough patience to wait 6 days in a hole in the middle of the Colombian mountains without coming out or moving much to ambush a guerrilla commander.  He is wily, resourceful, utterly ruthless and will stop at nothing to achieve his objectives.

He is not in it for the glory or power he is in it because he believes that for humanity to live the lives they deserve some men have to sacrifice their lives for it.

He is very agile and fast he is a distance runner but has a surprising sprint. He has been shooting since he was 6 because his father was a gun nut as a child he won 5 national championships, he is rated expert in most NATO issue rifles and the AK 47, AKM, AK 74, Dragonov sniper rifle. Strength Good, Intelligence he is smarter than most of the scientists. Bravery excellent sometimes described as fearless ( he just hides it really well) Psi: High enough to almost never by mind controlled and never panics but not high enough to ever really use a psi amp
Controller: Anything that has human genes (everybody=)
