Good work JFish!

You know, the descriptions seem to take up a lot of space, and it's hard to find who's in which squad.
Maybe have it where the names of the guys are links to the discriptions.

I was thinking something like a condensed list that looks like this:

Squad|Callsign|Name|Position|Character|Mortality
...
...
...

And have links to the bottom, where we have the full versions of the character bios.

This would make it easier to see what characters there are, who's in what squad, et cetera.

What you have is great, though! Looks nice! Is loads of help anyways!  :D

Well, it took a few hours and strained my scant knowledge of HTML, but thanks to Netscape Composer and the Word spellchecker, I present

Link: XCOM Characters with Description Index

Spelling and grammar have been corrected. British/American spellings have been left untouched. Jennings has been given a first name. Armoury sergeant now named. The remaining security, medical, technical, administrative, and janitorial personnel are and will remain anonymous unless called upon.

New guy:

Major Ivan Tolstovich
Callsign: The mad Russian
Background: Ivan Tolstovich was born and raised in the Soviet Union. He enlisted in the Red Army at the age of 19, and served for twenty-three years, reaching the rank of Major. He saw combat many times, and was considered to be an extraordinarily good soldier both by his superiors and by the soldiers he commanded.

In 1989, as the Soviet Union was coming to an end, Ivan was one of the soldiers who had to be fired, due to increasing budget problems. He drifted around Russia for a few years, before going into mercenary work. He shattered records, racking up a high kill rate, and Ivan soon became somewhat famous within mercenary circles.

His locations during this time are unrecorded, and mostly hearsay. His next confirmed location was when he turned up working for the CIA, leading one of their black ops teams, and then later training them, when he decided to leave field duty.

It was from the CIA that he was recommended to the X-COM project. Upon being briefed, he accepted the offer, at his standard salary of course, and went to serve in X-COM as the head of training.

Personal Information: Ivan is about fifty-two years old. He has black hair, which is starting to turn gray, and blue eyes.

Heh heh. Why O Why Zager do I get the impression that I've seen that name once before....Ivan Tolstovich....hmmmmm. :D

Though I think you'll have some trouble posting roleplaying in XCAS without attending sims since at that time you get to know the other characters a lot better you know.

But still. Some extra forum activity is always appriceated in XCAS. ;)

Are we to assume Ivan is taking over ground troop operations from Genega, and directly oversees our three training corporals? I can understand Genega wanting to delegate more duties in the expanded operation, but he's still going to want to see his soldiers personally now and then to get a feel for the battles. Will Ivan be leading any missions on the ground, or is his role purely training, or what?

I haven't played Red Alert - is that where he's from?

Nope, he's not from Red Alert.

Ivan is purely for training. He may take part in ground missions later on, but that's doubtful.

Character Name: Jack Donovan

Callsign: Eventually 'Ripper'

Background: Graudated Valedictorian in high school, he was offered a full ride scholarship to Westpoint Military Academy. Taking the opportunity, he applied himself full bore to his studies and his training. While there, he became Captain of the Cross-Country and Track squads. During military war games and drills he maintained a %100 kill ratio with whatever he targeted. He became specialized in assault rifles and known for his skill behind the scope of a sniper rifle.

Upon review of his personnel file from college, it became noted that in addition to making a %100 percent kill ratio he also had to most demerits and commendations at college. These were related to one another in regards to his unorthodox combat methods. It appears the subject has a habit of bending and stretching orders to the extreme,  in order to complete mission objectives. The demerits and commendations were given simultaneously: demerits for his lack of listening and/or respecting his commander; commendations for battlefield ingenuity and quick thinking. While the subject the more then likely excel as an X-Com operative, there is some slight concern for his following orders and whether or not he will in fact break them at some point in time.

From the ages of 13-18 he trained in Shotokan Karate, attaining the rank of 2nd Dan by the latter part of his 18th year. Because of his training and marks, he caught the eyes of some of the secret recruiters for X-Com and was approached on New Year's also his early graduation night.

Personal Information:
Height: 6'1"
Hair Color: Strawberry Blonde
Eye Color: Green
Build: Athletic

Physical Statistics:

Strength:Average
Intelligence:Slightly above average, but nothing of specific note.
Speed:Exceptional
Agility:Exceptional
Mental Condition: Stable
Bravery:Average - Does what is called for, known to go above and beyond the call of duty when necessary if no one else will 'step up to the plate' as he puts it.
Psionic Potential: Due to martial art training, high defense, and average, if any offense.

Weapons Training:

Hand to Hand: Exceptional
Pistols:Below Average
Grenades:Average
Rifle:Above Average
Heavy Weapons:Below average due to strength
Noted Preferrances:Dominant training shows subject to excel with hand to hand attacks, blades and rifles. All other training appears of tertiary interest.

Character's Controller:Rasicar (after the first few posts, other people are more then welcome to add in, however I reserve the right to kill him off. Note: He MIGHT die, I haven't figured out the specifics yet.)

Completely understandable Vet. Don't worry, I'll watch it. I was just thinking about the character and what he may have done in the past. Since no character is perfect, I realized that some flaws, especially interpersonal/militarily should be necessary.

Character's Name: Seamus O'Riork

Character's Callsign: N/A

Character's Background: Seamus graduated the top of his class in college. His accolades include Bachelor of Science: Biochemistry, Biology.  Masters: Genetics. Ph.D: BioGenetics. Was approached by X-INV, now known as X-Com after he created a synthetic organism which breaks down petro-chemicals present in crude oil spills and industrial accidents.

He could easily lead a successful research team of his own, however his personality prohibits his getting any any leadership position.

Character's Personal Information: Seamus displays signs of obsessive compusive behavior regarding his resarch and work. He himself suffers from a severe introverted personality which makes him have trouble trouble talking to people, especially his superiors. Spends his free time, what little he has, reading, drinking privately, and as he puts it, 'blowing the holy hell out of terrorists' in Counter-Strike.
