We take initiative this time and our Crab manages to get behind the Dragon and fire a full salvo into the rear!

Our Catapult, which has been hiding behind the hill firing indirectly, fires on the Dragon as well! All of his weapons are destroyed so that Drac pilot is just going to be running around now doing nothing!

The enemy Jenner sneaks around the hill and fires on the Crab! Fire control, critical hit!

He then makes a bee-line for our Catapult and engages firing off all his weapons! Our Cat returns fire and legs him!

The remaining Dragon engages our Crab. He does 1 damage to our mech while taking 3 damage himself.

Our Wolverine doubles back to assist the Catapult. He opens up on the Jenner nuking it out of existence!

The Dragon and Crab continue to exchange fire. Both mechs are taken out of the fight as the Crab completely disarms his 2nd Dragon at the cost of our mech!

An enemy Catapult advances on ours, but we have jump jets! We jump over him and clobber him in the back!

We continue to duel with the Kuritan mech, but it's heavier firepower starts to get to us!

We jump over behind them yet again! Our medium lasers blast through their rear armor! Meanwhile, our Wolverine finishes off the other Dragon.

We lose initiative so we jump behind a hill trying to get away. The enemy Cat runs around the hill and stares us down...

We continue dancing with the Drac, but eventually he draws down and blasts our Catapult with his PPCs! Our Wolverine is still in the fight so there's still a chance to down him!

Woohooooo! We've jumped behind the enemy! Only issue is only half out fire hit him, so he's down to 1 pip of structure!

WE JOIN EACH OTHER IN DEATH!!! PPCs blow out our CT while a Large Laser blast ruptures their cockpit.

Two ejection pods streak into the sky as scout craft survey the battlefield deciding if it's safe to try and send in salvage rigs where there's no enemy...or friendly presence...

"Base, there's a Commando and Bulldog scouting the area while a Hunchback and LRM carrier pull security"

"Rog, Rover, take'em out!"

"Flank speed! Let's set up behind these hills while our mechwarrior escort flushes out these Cappy scum!"

Our Schrek PPC carrier and Cicada go to the left, while our Manticore escorts the Goblin to the right so our infantry can move to capture the downed mechs.

Our tanks continue at full throttle as we close with the Capellans. The Cicada continues moving forward to get into their rear and scout them, scout them real good!

FIRE! 3 plasma bolts fly through the air and 2 barely miss the Bulldog, going to ground in the hill directly in front of it.

The Cappy tank advances on us some more, feeling bold. We don't miss this time, everyone but the PPC carrier hits with all weapons! Smoke billows from the turret, I believe we've scored a fire control hit!

The enemy LRM carrier indirect fires on the PPC carrier doing 2 damage. The Bulldog manages to compensate for it's damaged targeting system and manages a grazing hit on the Manticore.

Our Cicada gets into a flanking position on the LRM carrier while our tanks dig in on reverse slopes. The Hunchback has a problem with this plan and has come to crash our party!

*AC rounds burst from the Manitcore and Goblin*

"YEAH! Take that you son of a bitch!"

The Hunchback staggers under heavy close range fire, but he's still up

The Hunchback fires off its AC20 nearly blowing the turret off the Goblin. The Bulldog barely damages the Manticore with a barrage of lasers that mostly miss!

The Commando on the opposite hill rolls epic and hits us with an SRM 10 shot! Luckily for us, that armor breach didn't hit anything vital!

Our scout gets up into the LRM carrier's face and pops off medium lasers, but they miss. The carrier returns fire from within minimum range at a penalty, 1 flight of 20 rockets hit our mech.

The Bulldog and Hunchback get behind our two dug-in tanks, negating any advantage they got from parking behind the hill. Our Schrek stays hunkered down in the rear, while our Cicada has won initiative over the LRM carrier and Commando and is now BEHIND THEM!

The Hunchback fires on the Manticore, dealing full damage. The PPC carrier connects on the Bulldog with 2 shots. The Manticore returns fire crippling the Hunchback and taking out some weapons. With it's dying shot, the Bulldog misses the Goblin!

PEW PEW! The LRM carrier is now stripped of armor. Unfortunately, we didn't score any motive or critical hits!

We win initiative again and keep the Cicada behind them. Extra damage occurs because we're directly behind the target. The LRM carrier goes up in flames!

With the Bulldog dead, our tanks turn on the Hunchback and wipe him out as well! Meanwhile, the Commando plinks our PPC carrier with a single rocket.

Our Goblin connects with his pop-gun. This rattles the Commando and he only scores a 1 and misses!

He responds by moving in and taking out the Goblin with a barrage of SRMs. Our infantry squad bails out into the woods as the tank is destroyed.

"Take'em out!"

Our Cicada moves in closer and fires on the right flank of the Commando!

The Commando moves at flank speed off the map. Our forces miss due to the sheer speed of the mech moving out of heavy cover and bee lining it for the edge of the map.

 

All in all, we've put a savage ass-whipping on them this battle. 3 units destroyed, 1 heavily damaged at the cost of an IFV. We've managed to salvage several mechs from the last battle. 2 Catapults, 2 Hunchbacks, a Griffin, a Dragon and a Jenner. Things might be turning around for us now!

So... these battles are a part of a whole campaign? I always assumed you're playing them separately...
