Disappearing medkits

Recommended Posts

This is odd.

Just into the beginning of month 2 of a campaign,

Have researched med-kits, and it seems theres a skag fiend amongst the troops and or tweaker...because they disappeared.

Got back from a mission, 6 guys carrying med kits, a couple more back at HQ and the entire batch of 14 were gone

There on the way out gone by the time of return...where the hell did they disappear to, if there aren't any agents at the skag?

because they simply vanished.

Can't remember, I don't think so, there haven't been many, actually not sure if there have been any, yet. Bar a disastrous aborted attempt at taking out a base, where tentaculat and tasoth started pouring out like ants.

Shouldn't matter should it if they were all being carried on the troops.

The switch between parts runs a re-equip screen and only counts stuff being carried. If they got on the ground (stunned/dead soldiers dropping them, panic, etc.) they could disappear. Particularly in pre-1.2; that was one of the things 1.2 was meant to fix.

No, the troops were issued medkits, carried on the belt, along with a sidearm (sonic pistol, gauss pistol for the heavy gunners, the ones carrying both hydrojet cannons and a sonic cannon for their main weapons or the stronger aquanauts carrying gas cannon and sonic rifle plus either sonic or gauss pistol sidearm, medkits and dye/sonic grenades. Possibly stun rods but I tend to avoid giving them extra weight if they are already carrying such a heavy, heavy loadout. The artillery for long range shelling, and if anything gets close then they get the sonic cannon in the face. If they HAD been stunned at all, then they had gotten up again and picked up their kit.

Everything bar the bodycount (not counting that base, redid it and managed, somehow, by sheer dumb luck in several cases where tentaculat approached, took a sniff and then retreated again. The sonic pistols are growing on me a bit, for those real close range skin-of-you-teeth encounters where a hit is more or less guaranteed, or one can doubletap the tentaculats at point blank range, haven't faced more than a handful of DPLs, in the hands of high-ranking aquatoids usually rather than tasoth being given them yet, thankfully,

Haven't had any corpses to speak of..yet....month 2 and so far everything has been smiled on from above, or at least from the ranzomizer. A fair few fatal wounds and critical injuries, coelacanths down to 1HP, aquanauts battered and bleeding everywhere down to a handful of HP, just had one trooper take a couple of shots from a sonic cannon wearing aqua armor, first one didn't make a mark, second one nearly tore the soldier to pieces. Had to run for it, BARELY got close enough to a medic in time to be stabilized and confined to the transport, to snipe from the door where practical. they made it though, but only just, with one turn to spare. Other than the stupid attempt to take out that base with insufficient weaponry and ammo, having to rely on captured sonic pistols and tazers at the time, as well as grenades. Aborted that one entirely, was way too much of a mess.

Oddly, the couple of spare medkits disappeared both from base and the transport, so I suspect some kind of glitch.
