Double mission?

I thought the thing about "aliens can launch more than one non-Terror mission per month on higher difficulties" was a myth.

But in this save (Superhuman, in April), there appear to be both an Alien Base mission in progress in Central Asia and a new Alien Infiltration mission in progress in South East Asia (I've had a radar in China since the end of February and haven't lost any countries, so I'm 99% sure it's not a repeat; it's theoretically possible it's a carryover from March, as I didn't get a Hyper-Wave Decoder up until very recently, but this far into April and still only a Medium Scout? I've been doing very little interception, preferring to Ground Assault most things).

Vanilla X-Com 1.4 DOS, difficulty bug hex-edited out by hand.

I won't be examining this thread for a while; I'm still playing this game in earnest and don't want to cheat. I'm putting it up now because I'm doing iron-man rules and overwriting my save whenever something happens.

Known completed missions are:

January: Alien Research in Europe (Sectoids)

January: Alien Terror in South East Asia (Floaters)

February: (unknown mission; likely Research as I didn't see any non-scout UFOs) in Europe (forgotten race; definitely either Sectoid or Floater, though)

February: Alien Terror in South East Asia (Sectoids)

March: (unknown mission) in South East Asia? (uncertain) (forgotten race, but again definitely Sectoid or Floater)

March: Alien Terror in Siberia (Floaters) - due to an interception when a UFO took off before the Skyranger could get there, this carried over into April; the giant April score in Siberia is from shooting down and recovering the Terror Ship itself

March: Alien Retaliation in Europe (Floaters) - all intercepted except the Battleships (hence the enormous score), no base attack occurred

If you have not HWD then you can not say for certain. Both mission types use similar ships. Both mission types create a base.

You didn't download the .zip, did you?

I posted it because I Hyper-Wave Decoded both. And just an FYI - I really am knowledgeable enough to almost be able to tell without one; I know the boundaries of the various areas, I can identify all UFO types by speed (not just top speed, their lower speeds as well), and I can tell a Retaliation scout from a non-Retaliation scout from flight path alone.

Also, the fleets at the end are distinguishable (Base is Large Scout - Supply Ship - Supply Ship - Battleship; Infiltration is Large Scout - Terror Ship - Supply Ship - Battleship - Battleship), but they haven't arrived yet.
