Question about mod overriding another mod

For Silent Storm, I am using Oddball's mod, however I am not a fan of some things there. For example, Olli's medals on his new german uniform keep flickering (probably a conflict of two uniforms being picked at once) and Zinaida has a... really strange haircut to say the least.

I also did some research and found out that I apparently can't unpack and mod the .db files (can't edit existing mods?), so I decided to do a little workaround by creating my own mod (which edits Zinaida, Olli and adds a helmet strap to the custom German soldier skin) that would hopefully replace the thing I don't want in Oddball's mod.

After testing, it doesn't seem to work, there are still no changes in the original mod. Posted Image

So my question is: Is it actually possible to replace various functions of a mod like that? Or do I need to do something completely different? Or am I just wasting my time here?

Nevermind, I got it to work.
