This has got to be done right. That's all I'm saying. If you're going to write a book on the making of a classic the likes of Sir-Tech Software's Jagged Alliance 2, then that's your mission. Mr. Darius Kazemi took the contract.

The brief:

Focusing on JA2's development history and basing his book largely on new personal interviews with the game's developers, game designer and web technology developer Darius Kazemi will delve deep into the legacy of a game that still has much to teach gamers and game-makers 14 years after its release.

Jagged Alliance 2 by Darius Kazemi is now available for pre-order at Boss Fight Books.

Hired gun extraordinaire FullAuto shot this straight our way, for which he can rightfully cash in our sincere thanks.

I'm seriously contemplating getting this on pre-order (print + digital). I can't swing it right this moment, but hopefully next week. Thanks FA and Throndor! Posted Image

A soldier's death is never in vain if it makes the formula more plain.
A few dozen make a better case for refining that third decimal place.
They call me Zombie because I don't sleep, as I slowly struggle to climb this heap,
of corpses, data points, and trials, but from the top - I'll see for miles!

It's a great (if a little brief) look at the creation of one of the greatest strategy games ever made; Kazemi gets few things wrong and really digs into the game and the team behind it.  I loved reading it.

Erfworld - the finest comic about turn-based gaming ever.
