UFO Trilogy for $8 on GOG.com! (v.limited time)

Howdy folks, just got a pretty good deal dropped in my inbox so thought I'd send it your way for anyone who's interested!

I already have these games but for anyone who doesn't this is certainly a sale not to be missed. All three of the UFO titles are currently on a 4 day sale (Friday-Monday) at https://www.gog.com for less than $8! It's certainly less than I paid when I got them and while I wasn't a huge fan of the trilogy it's certainly worth $8...

The games can also be purchased individually for about $3 each and only $1.79 for Aftermath. You'll need to make a free account to buy games at GOG if you don't already have one but it's safe and free and you even get a bunch of free abandonware titles just for logging in. Anyone remember Under a Steel Sky? Anyone complete Under a Steel Sky???

Hope someone sees this and thinks it's a good deal, otherwise I just wasted precious seconds of my life that I'll never get back. Shame on you, go and buy these games!

I've been watching a Let's Play of Aftermath, and it has reminded me that though the game is flawed in various ways, it is still an excellent game to play. I'd get the set just for it (and maybe a bit of Aftershock, though I can't really offer a comment on Afterlight). Also the fact that you'll get a digital copy of the game that can run without the CD is really nice in this day an age.

There are lots of sales that pop up on GOG with generous frequency, so if you miss out now, another will likely turn up in the not too distant future.

On a different GOG note, I am disappointed with their offering of the Ultima Underworld series. Rather than offer the full hard drive installs, they've packaged them as CD images of the CD editions of the games. I honestly don't know whose bright idea it was to introduce the partial HD and rest on CD setup back in the bad olden days of yore - but it was a very-very bad idea. Beyond the slow emulated load times this has caused, they've set it up with some of the worst soundcard settings for the music that I've heard, and it's going to be incredibly difficult to fiddle with Doxbos to convert the game into a hard drive install and actually get to the soundcard settings. Your average casual gamer shouldn't be made to have to mess about like this.

Yes, I had forgot this excellent DRM-free store!

The 2nd after GOG, for me (I begin being fed up with ShinyLoot and all its zdim keys).

https://fireflowergam...ufo-aftershock/

3rd is https://itch.io/, but this is really indie style...

DotEmu is getting old, and involved in bad development (Heroes3HD).

Slitherine(withMatrix&Ageod) is exasperating, some spitting on its own customers with sales only for zdim.

However I was beta tester in https://www.ageod.com...nder.Siege.Gold

I like ShrapnelGames and Groupees too

(all others are too zdimy for me, there is already too much invasion and advert for this zdim spam store).
