Hearts of Iron IV

Momentous times demand great leaders. And so it is that we find ourselves called upon by Paradox Interactive to rise to the test anew, by commanding the fates of many, playing our part in the making of the history of the world in the just announced Hearts of Iron IV.

Hearts of Iron IV challenges players to face the brutal conflict of World War II in a multifaceted grand strategy game, where history can be fully relived or rewritten from the perspective of a global superpower attempting to change the world, or a small nation simply trying to survive.

Strategy fans will discover the most authentic real-time simulation of World War II to date, with authentic historical figures battling on land, sea, and air with period-accurate armies, vehicles, and newly discovered weapons of mass destruction – along with plenty of diplomatic and trade tactics.

From the heart of the battlefield to the command center, you will guide your nation to glory and wage war, negotiate or invade. You hold the power to tip the very balance of WWII.

The leading features:

• Total strategic war - The war is not only won on land, on the seas and in the air, but also in the laboratories, the factories, the backrooms, in international trade and in the hearts and minds of men and women.

• The most authentic real-time simulation of the war - Let the greatest commanders of WW2 fight your war with the tools of the time; tanks, planes, ships, guns and newly discovered weapons of mass destruction.

• Fight as any nation in the greatest human conflict of all time - Choose from the greatest powers striving for victory, or the small nations trying to weather the storm.

A steely resolve will be required too of the fans of the series, as this greatly anticipated next instalment shall only take to the field by early 2015.

One of the core ideas in Hearts of Iron IV is that historical hindsight should be less of an advantage compared to Hearts of Iron III. The player will need actual experience with winter warfare and can't perfectly prepare for it just because they know the historical problems that the Wehrmacht faced, because their in-game troops and generals won't have that information. Veterans of the series will, of course, fare better than beginners since they are more familiar with Hearts of Iron, but it should be a fresh experience for them too.
